Hurricane Earl is expected to wreak some havoc on the East Coast this Labor Day weekend. According to the the National Hurricane Center, Earl is expected “pass near the North Carolina outer banks tonight [Thursday]… and approach southeastern New England Friday night.” President Obama has declared a state of emergency for North Carolina, and FEMA has deployed teams to North Carolina, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. Whether you live near the National Hurricane Center’s official “Forecast Cone” or you’re one of the 34.4 million people who planned a trip for this weekend, you’ll want to keep an eye on Earl. Here are some resources to kickstart your tracking: Get your weather warnings and advisories right from the source on top of a color-coded map. You can also use the site to check in on where Earl is likely to hit and whether or not hurricane force winds

EnvIO Networks has just released the latest batch of usage statistics from its iPhone app Chorus. The app, which launched in November, acts as a social network for Apple's App Store. It lets users share what apps they're buying, as well as recommend purchases to others--two things Apple's own store does not offer. According to the company, Chorus users have invited an average of 75 friends. The numbers below are based on "tens of thousands of user interactions and download attempts" from the month of December. Felicia is fading, but Bill is building. Forming early Monday, Hurricane Bill sustained winds of 90 mph which are expected to climb to 110 mph — putting it in the running to become a major hurricane in the next couple of days. The first official hurricane in the Atlantic this season, Bill is some 1000 miles east of the Lesser Antilles and is expected to track west-northwest as it builds. Residents of Bermuda should monitor its progress closely, and East Coast residents might be in for some choppy surf as a result as well. Luckily there are umpteen ways to follow the progress of the storm as it develops. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite hurricane-chasing resources here, broken into sections for web-based resources, Twitter-specific sources and mobile hurricane tracking. MyFoxHurricane has been a staple of our hurricane tracking resources for its tracking maps, video footage, satellite photos, and live

Best Weather Application!
Machabit
Version: 2.0
Version 2.0 of the AccuWeather.com application is the best weather application available! I have not experienced any crashes that others have noted. And those who note that selecting a location does nothing, know that to view information for a different location you need to swipe on the Current Conditions screen. Much easier!
No ads! And the interface.

I don't like ads in your app. You could make a paid version for a dollar without them.
Don't you think that it'd be better to have pictures showing whether it is cloudy or sunny rather than some strange looking "photos" of moon or a road on a main screen.
Please, do something about it!
Horrible

Version: 1.02
Hangs forever when toggling between multiple cities due to lousy ad banners and needless graphics.
Clean Interface

Version: 1.02
Great app. Ads are terribly distracting and might give the impression there is a severe weather alert ( the latest eyesore of an ad is bright red across the top of the screen ). If the ads were less distracting I'd give it a 5.

i see a lot of good reviews but idk how to activate it. it says i need to agree to the license but idk where to go or where to find it. its like im just waisting my time!
Best weather app so far, but....

Version: 1.0
It could use a few improvements. Being able to pan around nationally while viewing the radar would be great. Also, seeing a few more hours in the hourly forecast section would be wonderful. Otherwise, it doesn't disappoint :)
Adware

Charge me -- I'd pay for this app -- or povide it for free. But don't put ads in software.

1/4/09 - Beautiful interface and decent features. Being that it's a free app I probably would have used it with some enthusiasm, but it continuously crashed on me. I deleted it and reinstalled it numerous times with the same result. My wife had the same issues. At this point it is unusable! We've moved on to Fizz Weather (excellent features and stable. A bit pricy though).
Wow!

Adware!

Adware full of advertisements and commercials. Boo!
Why is it so hard to give people what they want?

Version: 1.0
The app is a nice combination of features found in other apps, but really, is it supposed to be a combination of other apps' features that makes it good? Shouldn't it be this good from the start? Why did it take this long?
I don't know why, but Accuweather decided to limit the radar zoom to just your locale, which makes the radar somewhat pointless at times. Also, while video is nice, I pretty much have all that information already. An emergency weather radio feed would be much nicer. They do exist, I use them all the time.
This is probably the best weather app available right now, but falls short like all the others on some things.
Never Runs Stuck in an endless loop of xml problems
Light-Fun
Version: 1.0
Was all excited to get a decent weather app from folks I use all the time. No luck though. It just sits and spins it's wheels looking for xml files that do not exist.
Crashes evertime I try and add another location
Rob Spokane
Version: 1.0
I love this app, but I have eight locations, and I was tryng to add about 10 more for all of my family and friends around the world, and it just crashes and brings you back to the Itouch screen. There is some bug in it, or is there a limitation on how many locations you can add?
Simple interface
InspectorFox
Version: 1.0
I like it better than The Weather Channel for iPhone and it's Free!
Finally something with a radar
goodieroe
Version: 1.0
Very nice app
Does the simple things an app should do.
1 use gps to get weather
2 fast updates
3 animated radar
Great Data, could use some UI tweaks
sphns
Version: 1.0
Great data, esp. the national weather service notices. It would be nice if it were easier to switch between locations:
Just hangs
SimchaM
Version: 1.0
It says worldwide. I am in Canada. It asks if it can use my location. I reply yes and the hourglass appears for as long as I leave the app running. I will rerrate it when I can use it.
Nearly perfect
StoneColdSober
Version: 1.0
Great looking GUI. Loads fast and has plenty of good features. The only thing that would make it better would be animating the weather on the main page, like on the AT&T Fuze (when it's snowing, snow flakes fall in the background, raining, rain falls and a windshield wiper wipes it away, etc..). So it would be cool to see that in an update. But functionally, it's perfect.
Good app but...
Pocha1963
Version: 1.0
I ultimately prefer The Weather Channel app. The UI of this app is classier but I think it provides less useable info than TWC app. If this app provided more detailed daily info and at least a 7 day forecast it would be my only weather app. Until then TWC app is.
Awesome weather app!
imike12706
Version: 1.0
Finally!!! A weather app that is useful AND looks good. It's not overpriced like my weather but at the same time does everything and more. The indicies section is a nice touch. Also has several videos to choose as opposed to TWC's one forcast. ONLY thing I would change, would be a NEXRAD radar like the other radar app in the app store. But this radar is still up to the job. And it's animted from the start! Good job accuweather!
Ok, but falls short next to TWC
CttdFlyer
Version: 1.0
The indicies and such are nice, but I want more weather info - a few hours or a few days aren't enough! The animated radar is a welcome addition, but its quality and scope are severely lacking compared to TWC. Lastly, the adds are highly obtrusive - they take up 2x or more space than any other app. This app was a major disappointment coming from such a reputable quality source like accuweather.
Hate the ads.
NYNY173
Version: 1.0
The ads on top is lame.
OK but dislike the ads
CAQmd
Version: 1.0
Good design and interface but I disliked the video advertisements before the local weather videos - something you don't have to sit through in other free weather applications like The Weather Channel. The radar map will not zoom in as much as with TWC. This made me delete this app and keep The Weather Channel.
Defiantly better the TWC
imper069
Version: 1.0
Defiantly better than The Weather Channel app. Like how i can finally have animated radar. Looks a lot better and loads a lot faster. Only think i dont like, is i wish there was a 10 day forcast instead of 5. And be able to zoom out on the radar. Change those 2 things and i'll bump up the rating. Still a 4 star for me though.
Best weather app, period
Seven7
Version: 1.0
This is the best weather app, hands down. Judging from the screenshots, I was expecting this app to take a while to load the weather (due to the graphics) compared to other weather apps but I was completley wrong. Updates almost instantly and I love the fact that on the 5-day forecast, you can hit the moon icon and it actually summarizes the weather at night for the 5 days and not just the weather during the day. For people that tend to go out at night, its a plus.
