Last week at the Windows Phone 7 launch, AT&T announced that they were going to launch their U-verse mobile TV service for Microsoft’s rebooted mobile platform, but that hardly means AT&T is leaving their other platform partners out in the cold. Today, they announced that the recently-launched BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 and a whole batch of new and upcoming Android devices (like the Bravo and Flipside) are able to schedule and record TV shows on your home DVR remotely, as well as download programs over Wi-Fi and watch them whereever you happen to be. The U-verse app for iPhone has been available since the late summer, and with these two last OSes, AT&T has tied in their digital TV service with all of their high-end mobile devices pretty nicely. You can only download shows if you subscribe to the U300 package ($87/month or higher). One of my favourite parts of U-verse

By Chris Hall on August 9th, 2010 If you have AT&T's U-verse, you can now download content directly to your iPhone with the U-verse mobile app. AT&T U-verse customers, you lucky dogs, are now able to watch on-demand video from the newly updated U-verse mobile app. On top of being able to “browse the U-verse TV program guide, view program descriptions, and schedule and manage your DVR recordings,” you can now download full TV shows from the U-verse network over any available Wi-Fi network. “We’re making it possible for you to watch TV shows on your iPhone at no extra charge. It’s just one more valuable and innovative feature available on U-verse TV,” said David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “Our U-verse multi-screen promise is now a reality for millions of U-verse TV customers, with content available on U-verse TV, U-verse Online, and today, U-verse Mobile. Between finishing up and getting through traffic, you’ll never get home in time to shower — OH GOD WAIT FORGET SHOWERING!!11 You forgot to set the DVR to record Desperate Housewives, and now it’s over. Enter AT&T’s U-verse Mobile. U-Verse is AT&T’s “better than cable” (while still technically being cable) television experience, which allows for things like playing shows from one DVR in the house on another, or watching multiple TV shows at once on the same screen (because people do that, apparently.) An updated version of AT&T’s U-Verse Mobile app hits the

Right on cue, AT&T has released its U-verse iPhone app and the program enables U-verse customers to download their shows and watch them on the go without a data connection. The AT&T U-verse Apple iPhone app enables users to sync with their home DVR service and download shows and movies over WiFi. You’ll then be able to watch your recorded content on your handset without having to worry about data coverage. The Apple iPhone app also enables users to program their DVR on the go, as well as view content schedules. You’ll need to be a U-verse subscriber, of course, and you need the U300 package or higher. “Our U-verse multi-screen promise is now a reality for millions of U-verse TV customers, with content available on U-verse TV, U-verse Online, and today, U-verse Mobile,” said David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T, in a prepared statement. “No cable provider comes close to

AT&T has already done it (iTunes link). DirecTV is all about it. Now, Comcast has thrown their own iPhone app into the mix. The digital cable television, phone and high-speed internet provider has just launched a new iPhone app that allows customers to control their Cable, Voice and Data services from the palm of their hand. Literally. The new iPhone app from Comcast will sync iPhone contacts to the Comcast Universal Address Book and tie it in with the Comcast Digital Voice service (if you have it). Never again will you be left wondering who called or who left a message. You can even forward phone calls from your home line to your iPhone. Users can browse Comcast’s TV schedule, set reminders for that all important episode of “Gossip Girl,” tell your friends about shows you like to watch (as long as they are Comcast subscribers), and even watch movie trailers

AT&T has released a free iPhone and iPod touch application that allows U-verse subscribers control their DVR systems remotely, which seems to be all the rage these days with DVR systems. The app, U-verse TV Mobile Remote Access, can display program listings and full descriptions of individual shows, as well as allow users to schedule program or series recordings. It’s also possible to edit existing schedules, whether they have been initiated from the iPhone app or on the DVR itself. Should you not have enough free space, existing stored content can be remotely deleted as well. AT&T recently boosted the connection speed for their U-verse subscribers, together with adding more flexibility in controlling recordings and downloading movie content. The company has been discussing an iPhone app for U-verse since September last year, and finally got around to releasing it late last week. Posted on Jun 28th, 2009 by Maggie Mills in

Won't download right version
mrkhar
Version: 1.0.1
Version still says 1.0.8 , not 1.0.1 ... keep on getting error message "unable to retrieve Channel Listing (Please retry your request)" over and over and over again ... good idea but worthless if it does not work.
HELP! It doesn't work!!!
lynyrd59
Version: 1.0.1
I love my iPhone and my AT&T U-Verse, but this app will not work on my iPhone. It works on my daughter's iPhone, but not mine. I have the same problem as some of the others. It will not show anything in any list and gives a failure notification if I change lists.
Version 1.08 Not working
webo57
Version: 1.0.1
When I download the App, I'm getting version 1.08 not version 1.1 per the iTunes store
Could be really great...
:.:092.:81:.988:.:
Version: 1.0.1
But it's data retreival is extremely slow, even on my wifi. Also, it seems like it uses a lot of memory and seems unstable. If these issues are resolved, I will definetly submit a better review ASAP.
Junk for now
PvtJoker77
Version: 1.0.1
Keep getting error code 5 has not worked yet! I'm sure when they get it fixed it will be good!
Update:
Works good now. Now I would like to see when you record a series you can change the settings like first run only and any time any day settings. Other than that just a little slow. I'm sure it will be a 5 star soon! Thx
No surprise here.
hapaxes
Version: 1.0.1
Late and unreliable. Pretty much what you'd expect from AT&T.
AT&T contines to amaze...
FalconBrad
Version: 1.0.1
With what they are not capable of doing. I'm not having the technical issues that some of the people in the reviews are talking about, and yet, even though the app "works" for me, it's almost complete crap. It's amazingly slow loading the guide (I'd say about a minute). Searching for "mythbusters" and "daily show" turned up no results. And the UI is god-awful. It looks like a third-rate Windows Mobile app. I thought I read an article on TechCrunch (or somewhere) on how AT&T had been working on U-Verse/iPhone integration for over a year. AT&T, if you're reading this, I would suggest you fire the guy responsible for making this app if it took him more than 4 hours to complete. If you're paying him a cent, it's too much.
Slow, slow, slow
ziggieboi
Version: 1.0.1
And when I mean slow, I will wait 60 sec. For the app to even see the tv guide.
I don't have time to sit here and wait for an app.
BIG let down. As quality as AT&T.
Slow, even when loading only a few favorite channels
ChiTownDave
Version: 1.0.1
I'm running this on app on an iPhone 3G S, and even when connected via WiFi, this program takes forever to load. Is the program loading (from the server) all of the graphics each time it starts? If so, why is this not part of the program? Also, why not load and display the current hour, then go on to load the rest of the day? How about caching the guide so when I start the app in a few hours, it does not have to reload all of the data?
Won't pull up any listings
BrandonSD
Version: 1.0.1
If it worked, this would be great. But it won't pull up listings, already recorded programs or scheduled recordings.
I like the idea of it-just wish it actually worked.
pure crap
phactory
Version: 1.0.1
this is pure crap. with all the money behind this giant, you would think they would turn out something more polished. it crashes, freezes, and does not list anything.
I'm just going to switch to Boxee
Doesn't work
Wonko_42
Version: 1.0.1
Yep, same problem here. Pretty much what I've come to expect from Uverse. Buggy and unreliable service.
what's the point?
delslow
Version: 1.0.1
the app is so slow and responsive. it's less frustrating using the web access.
No Channel Listing
MiscikG
Version: 1.0.1
So far, this app is useless. It will not download my channel listings.
Doesn't work for me
Steve614183625!
Version: 1.0.1
Installed and uninstalled and reinstalled and never worked for me. The app turns on but it will never load any shows. The guide never loads. Ive tried restarting my phone. Still doesn't work

This sounds like a great app, I loaded it but my channel listing will not come up and it shows an error. Need help!
Nice!

Version: 1.0.1
No glitch here! Must be fixed now. Glad to have this service. It's needed.
Nice
Abherosn
Version: 1.0.1
Whatever the initial glitch was is fixed now. Workin great!
(Just stopped working) Working now!
gotzaiPhone
Version: 1.0.1
Started up great the first time, I was able to delete old recordings, but once I quit the app and tried to get back in, all I get is an error code 5??? WTF???? Once it's more stable, it will get 5 stars.
UPDATE: no more error message and is back to normal. 5 stars for this because it's much better than the mobile web site!!!
Isn't showing recorded or scheduled
DistractedOnce
Version: 1.0.1
I haven't received any errors (updated to 3.0 on Wed; downloaded this app today). I was able to add favorite channels smoothly (I like the UI) but, as I mentioned in the title, nothing shows up in my recorded/scheduled screen (yes was able to log in).
When this app works for me and does what it's intended then I will definitely change rating!
Cool remote access
Alyssa on iPod Touch
Version: 1.0.1
It's working great for me!
Just felt like running
C.h.a.n.g.o
Version: 1.0.1
App is running again and I'm happy again. Sweet!!!
Seems to work fine on 3.0
Antony30bc
Version: 1.0.1
Whatever the problem was it appears to be fixed now, it is working fine on my iPhone this morning, which is 3.0 by the way.
WORTHLESS - ERRORS ON EVERY SCREEN
Alamocity2
Version: 1.0.1
Doesn't work on any screen. Junk. Still using the Safari based website to update mine. I hope AT&T gets this fixed. Poor reflection on a great product.
Seems to be working better
Holadin
Version: 1.0.1
Error messages are gone. There's a slow load time when accessing the guide even through Wi-fi. Still better than using Safari!
'Bout Time
Random Guy
Version: 1.0.1
I've had U-Verse for 1 1/2 years and have been waiting for this. It's about time!
Does not work
ChiTownDave
Version: 1.0.1
Keep getting error code 5. Not a single feature/tab works.
Great app, marred by AT&T's network
twentw
Version: 1.0.1
This is a nicely done app, but it relies on AT&T's network to provide the data. Less than a day after this app's release, AT&T's server is down, making this app worthless for the time being. Let's hope this is a temporary one-time glitch.
Poor code. Try again.
MX SoCal
Version: 1.0.1
After 5 minutes of use the app won't run any more. Every tab throws an XML parsing error. Fix the errors, make it work then add ability to stream shows to iPhone and it would get a 5. With streaming I would give it a 4 if not for the bugs.
Wonderful!
Icermize
Version: 1.0.1
Soooo much better than using Safari to access U-Verse. Well done & thank you.
Finally!
kch2009
Version: 1.0.1
The web interface has been terrible on the iphone, so its about time they get an app out.
simply awsome
d0ng3r
Version: 1.0.1
this app rocks, I think I prefer it over the normal web remote access.
Art23ace
Chi_ace77
Version: 1.0.1
It's the bomb, so easy to use
Its about time.... AT&T slacking again

Version: 1.0.1

So awesome
Mjlickley
Version: 1.0.1
Finally AT&T does something right. Makes me not mind spending my life savings on their spotty service. Cool app, works good, free, a must have. +=
U-verse is awesome!
kidogo
Version: 1.0.1
And now even easier to program remotely with this app!
AMAZING APP
HYM122
Version: 1.0.1
If you have U-verse you need this app for the iPhone!!!
Great App, Now Make It Better
Scooterman1
Version: 1.0.1
This is a great App. Now, please make it even better by giving us Playback, Pause, control, etc. And for our STB. This way, we could use the iPhone as a Remote Control. That would be Fantastic!
Error code 5
mcfarlandclan
Version: 1.0.1
Am I the only person that can't get this thing to work? All I get are errors -- Error code 5.
Must have
jbrandonf
Version: 1.0.1
*****Updated*****
App will not load after the first time I used it. I just get a spinning wheel for a cuple of minutes then an error dialog box. Downgraded to 1 star until this is fixed.
*******
Great app, there are a couple of feature you can add to improve functionality though.
Let me cache data!
I would also like the ability to change the black tab bar at the bottom. Why do I need access to the About tab? I'd rather have my favorite channels down there. As of right now to access that I'd have to click more then favorites. Dumb design decision.
That's it. The latter complaint if fixed would make it a definite 5-star app.
Great app but.....
pjb0422
Version: 1.0.1
This app works as advertised. I think there were some server problems that resulted in an error code, but that seems to have been resolved.
