Chopper 2 is the sequel to the best selling App Store side scroller, Chopper. Launch SALE! Chopper 2 is on sale at 40% off for a limited time!

Chopper 2 features 36 action packed missions over 12 unique and beautiful locations. It features a completely re-written 3D game engine, all new enemies, weapons, graphics, and missions, while still retaining the classic side scrolling game-play.

Escort a convoy of vehicles across the desert, or defend a train from enemies emerging from underground mines. Use your laser sight to line up enemies emerging from stairwells in the city. Chase down lines of enemy tanks and choppers while avoiding heat seeking missiles, gunfire and bird strike. Help your allies defend against advancing armies, and rescue stranded civilians, all while trying to complete your mission as fast as possible for the highest score.

Chopper 2 features OpenFeint leaderboards and achievements. It is universal for iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch, with HD graphics on both the iPad and iPhone 4. It uses the gyroscope where it can for increased control, OpenAL for spatial sound effects and even features an amazing 17 minute long original soundtrack.

If you have both an iPad and an iPhone, you can use the fantastic remote control feature to wirelessly control the iPad with an iPhone over bluetooth. Then plug the iPad into a TV or display through the component cable or VGA adapter and play Chopper 2 on your TV from your couch!

Note: TV output is only supported from an iPad, and only when using the bluetooth remote control feature.

"Chopper 2's iPhone-as-controller is one of the first of its kind. How's it look? Um... awesome." - Gizmodo.com

"It's very cool, and the first we've seen an iPhone controlling an iPad game in this way. Connecting it to a TV was the cherry on top." - TUAW.com

Games for the weekend: Chopper 2
Mini_discussion_bubble TheAppleBlog - Posted Fri, 18 Nov 2011 21:28:03 UTC +00:00
Games for the Weekend is a weekly feature aimed at helping you avoid doing something constructive with your downtime. Each Friday we’ll be recommending a game for Mac, iPhone or iPad that we think is awesome enough to keep you busy until Monday, at least. I’ve always been a fan of side-scrolling shoot-em-up action games. Defender is one of my all-time favorite arcade games. Then I started playing Chopper 2, and what a difference 3D makes to this type of game. For just $0.99 in the Mac App Store,  and $2.99 in the iOS App Store for a universal version that supports iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, you can play this excellent, addictive game on all your Apple devices. What sets this game apart is the way in which you control your chopper.  It uses the gyroscope on your iOS device to go up and down, backwards and forwards. And on Read More
AirPlay Mirroring – Now Not Only For The iPad 2
Mini_discussion_bubble Touch Arcade - Posted Tue, 18 Oct 2011 19:00:59 UTC +00:00
One of the many features that set Twitter ablaze with the announcement of iOS 5 back at WWDC was AirPlay mirroring. AirPlay had already been around for a while, and in its initial form allowed iOS devices to steam video to an Apple TV or audio to an Airport Express. Mirroring, as the name implies, mirrors the current display of your device on whatever video display you've got your Apple TV plugged into. Crafty developers have even figured out how to output a different image than the one that's being displayed on your iOS device, which is really cool in action. Initially, AirPlay mirroring required an iPad 2 and when it was first unveiled it was never very clear if or when other iOS would have the same capabilities-- Especially since Apple has made it abundantly clear that they still consider the Apple TV a "hobby" of theirs. Well, with the Read More
'War Pinball' Updated with Game Center and TV-Out Functionality
Mini_discussion_bubble Touch Arcade - Posted Wed, 18 May 2011 12:00:07 UTC +00:00
Back in March, experienced iOS pinball developer Gameprom released their newest pinball offering into the App Store called War Pinball [99¢/HD]. Like their previous games, War Pinball contained gorgeous 3D graphics, complex table designs, and a decent physics simulation, at least as far as video pinball games go. The game featured 3 different tables that were each themed after a popular war movie - Navy Seals, Missing in Action, and Platoon. We really liked War Pinball in our review, and today a new update is available that adds a couple of interesting features to the game. First off, it now has Game Center integration with leaderboards for each table (as well as one for the Platoon mini-game) and more than 50 achievements to earn. The other big feature in this update is a TV-Out capability for both the iPhone and iPad versions of the game. Retina Display devices will output the Read More
Digging Into the iPad 2's HDMI-Out Capabilities
Mini_discussion_bubble Touch Arcade - Posted Fri, 25 Mar 2011 17:41:59 UTC +00:00
Earlier this morning we posted news that Firemint would soon be bringing an update to [App Store], with support for full-screen 1080p video-out on the iPad 2. This news got us wondering about the overall situation that the iPad 2 and it's new PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics processor(s) present to existing games that already utilize TV-out by way of Apple's earlier component and VGA video cables for iOS devices. I chatted up Keith Shepherd of Imangi, author of [App Store], which has supported TV-out via the aforementioned cables for some time now, to see what he thought the iPad 2's 1080p capability means for existing titles. While he hadn't tested Max on an iPad 2 personally, he felt it likely that the newly supported resolution should be there among those presented to an application by iOS, and therefore presented as an option in his game. And, he was right. With an iPad 2 Read More
Favorite 4: iOS Gaming on Your TV

By Carter Dotson on February 2nd, 2011 The VGA cable for 4th generation iOS devices can be used for more than just displaying videos and other assorted documents, as this Favorite 4 details those fine games that show off iOS gaming on the big screen. The iPad may have a big and beautiful screen, but sometimes, you want to play those games on an even bigger screen, like your TV. Thankfully, there are a selection of iOS games that allow you to hook up your iPad and/or iPhone/iPod touch to the TV using the VGA adapter, and sit back and enjoy games on your monitor or HDTV. : Consoles and PCs won’t be getting the id Tech 5 engine and the full Rage game until the end of this year at least, but you can play the first fruits of the id Tech 5 engine on your monitor TV through Rage Read More
TiPb Picks of the Week

By Leanna Lofte, Sunday, Jan 23, 2011 | Every week a few of us from team TiPb will bring you our current favorite, most fun and useful App Store apps, WebApps, jailbreak apps, even the occasional accessory, web site, or desktop app if the mood strikes us. As long as they’re iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch related, they’re fair game. To see what we picked, and to tell us your pick, follow on after the break! LockInfo and BiteSMS are the single 2 reasons I can’t live without jailbreaking. Little tweaks and customizations I can do without, LockInfo I couldn’t be without. I was able to take a first look at LockInfo 3.0 before it was released to the public (it’s currently in public beta). This is a huge update to an already great app. The update adds themes, favorites, calendar status bar alerts, and more. If you’re a jailbreaker, make Read More

Update Alert – 'Canabalt' and 'Chopper 2' Get Substantial Updates
Mini_discussion_bubble Touch Arcade - Posted Wed, 05 Jan 2011 09:00:43 UTC +00:00
Canabalt, $2.99 - After raising more than $30,000 for the Child's Play Charity as part of the Indie iPhone Game Sale over the holidays, developer Semi Secret decided to celebrate by making their game Canabalt open source for people to tinker around with or use to create their own game (with limitations, of course). The Canabalt code that was released as open source was an even more up to date version of the game than what was currently in the App Store. Now this improved version has become available as an update for iOS owners of the game. The update features Retina Display graphics and 60fps on iPad and 4th generation devices, Game Center integration for high scores, and other performance optimizations and fixes. Significantly, this update appears to have finally fixed the long standing problem of stuttering and choppiness on 3rd generation devices. Canabalt running at a rock solid 60fps Read More
Homescreens – Dezember 2010 (iPhone + iPad)

Außerdem verstecken sich innerhalb der Ordner folgende Apps*: Amazon.de (kostenlos; App Store-Link), Convertbot (1.59 €; App Store-Link), AnalyticsPro (5.49 €; App Store-Link), Delivery Status touch (3.99 €; universal; App Store-Link), Dropbox (kostenlos; universal; App Store-Link), iCabMobile (1.59 €; universal; App Store-Link), Skype (kostenlos; App Store-Link), WeatherPro (2.99 €; App Store-Link), Pastebot (2.99 €; App Store-Link), LogMeIn (23.99 €; universal; App Store-Link), OffMaps (1.59 €; universal; App Store-Link), Kik (kostenlos; App Store-Link), PayPal (kostenlos; App Store-Link), Linkie (0.79 Read More
Read More

Chopper 2 for Mac controlled by iPhone
Mini_discussion_bubble TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog - Posted Mon, 29 Nov 2010 20:45:00 UTC +00:00
You've probably seen Chopper 2 here on TUAW before -- we originally covered the app's iPad-out-to-TV feature and then chatted with creator David Frampton back at WWDC last year. With the news of the Mac App Store coming soon, Frampton has decided to port the game over to the Mac, and since he already included a way to control the universal iPad app with an iPhone, he's decided to do the same thing for the Mac. On the next page, you can see a video demo of the app on the Mac being controlled by the iPhone version over Wi-Fi. It's very slick, and I don't think this will be the last connection we'll see between iOS apps and the Mac App Store. When developers are able to "control" versions of all three of their apps (iPhone, iPad and, eventually, the Mac), there are probably many more ways they can connect Read More
Video of 'Chopper 2' for Mac Using an iPhone as a Controller
Mini_discussion_bubble Touch Arcade - Posted Mon, 29 Nov 2010 12:03:13 UTC +00:00
When Steve Jobs announced last month that the Mac would be getting its own App Store, we saw quite a few current iOS developers confirm that they would be bringing their iPhone and iPad products to the Mac. One of those products will be Majic Jungle Software's Chopper 2 [$4.99], a universal side-scrolling helicopter combat and rescue game that was released back in July and has since been quite successful. We really enjoyed Chopper 2 in our full review, and while the gameplay itself is a lot of fun, we also found the array of options for displaying and playing the game to be rather intriguing. Chopper 2 comes equipped with the ability to remotely control the game running on an iPad, iPhone 4 or 4th generation iPod touch over Bluetooth or WiFi using another iOS device. We demonstrated this feature back in April with a video showing Chopper 2 being Read More
Happy Thanksgiving – Here Are a TON of Games on Sale
Mini_discussion_bubble Touch Arcade - Posted Thu, 25 Nov 2010 11:04:08 UTC +00:00
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and has been all my life. What's there not to love about an entire day revolving around eating massive amounts of turkey, stuffing, and all the other fixings? Sure, I could do without needing to feign interest in football, but thankfully tryptophan overload usually allows me to sleep through all of that. If you're looking for something to do this year while you do your best to either pretend to be interested in football or anxiously wait for the food to be done, there are a ton of sales on the App Store to consider. The basis of this post comes from SirAwesome's awesome thread in our new price drops, freebies, and deals forum. He put together an extremely exhaustive listing of everything that's on sale, and the thread is good to stop by just to make sure you're not missing anything that might Read More

[iOS-Game] Chopper 2
Majic Jungle Read More
Chopper 2 out now
Mini_discussion_bubble TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog - Posted Wed, 28 Jul 2010 03:30:00 UTC +00:00
We've mentioned Chopper 2 a couple of times during development, once to show off the TV out function built into the game, and again when we met up with creator David Frampton at WWDC. Now, development has finally finished, and he's released the game out on the App Store. You can pick it up for a launch sale price of $2.99. It's an excellent game, very polished, and while it starts out simply, the combat builds up well. It controls about the same as the last game (tilt to fly the chopper, and tap the screen to fire), but the firing controls have been refined. The presentation is probably the most amazing thing, actually -- the 3D world looks terrific, the music is excellent, and the titles on screen are in a kind of 3D as well, so that they seem to actually float in the game's real-world space. 'Chopper 2' — A Game That's More than Universal
Mini_discussion_bubble Touch Arcade - Posted Tue, 27 Jul 2010 03:14:55 UTC +00:00
David Frampton and his Majic Jungle Software first crossed our radar when his aerial shoot and rescue title Chopper [App Store] debuted two years ago as one of the more notable App Store launch titles. Chopper was very well received from the start and quickly became one of the true App Store success stories, seeing 500 downloads a day (at $7.99), early on. Since then, the game has been downloaded more than 350,000 times. A little over half a year after Chopper's debut, inspired by the game's success, Frampton began work on the sequel, Chopper 2. And quite a bit of work it turned out to be. Originally expected to be completed in just six months for an August '09 release, Chopper 2 has taken a hefty 16 months to complete. But, at long last, it has landed in the App Store [link]. So just what's taken so long to bring Read More
