Civil War: America's Epic Struggle (US$4.99) from MultiEducator Inc. is a full history course in an iPad and iPhone app. It contains at least as much information as most textbooks on the Civil War at a fraction of the cost, while adding elements that no textbook can. Why buy it?

It's not clear why you would buy this app except, like me, out of curiosity. All of the material is readily available elsewhere. Citations to sources are lacking, making it unreliable for any serious endeavor. The multimedia presentations seem sketchy and amateurish. Sit down with Wikipedia for a few hours and save your money. I wish I had.
