Launch the I Am T-Pain app, select your favorite track, and just sing into the Mic on your iPhone. I Am T-Pain will record and Auto-Tune your voice. Then, with a single button, share your song over email, Facebook, or MySpace.
You can also select the Freestyle option and use Auto-Tune for singing without companion tracks. Use this option if you simply want to send someone an Auto-Tuned greeting over email (Shawwttay!).
• The application bundles several of T-Pain’s top songs including Bartender and I'm N Luv (Wit a Stripper), complete with lyrics, integrated Auto-Tune settings, and timings.
• The App also bundles six previously unreleased T-Pain original beats, and three holiday classics to usher in the holidays Santa-Pain style.
• Additional songs including On A Boat, Buy U A Drank, and Good Life can be purchased within the App.
• Update 1.1 has been approved! Use Auto-Tune with your existing iTunes library.
http://iamtpain.smule.com/ features top Auto-Tuned performances around the world, based on the amount of "Love" your songs receive on Facebook or MySpace.
We recommend using the headphones with the integrated microphone that came bundled with your iPhone (required for first gen iPhone and iPod touch). You can also plug your iPhone into external speakers, amplifying your Auto-Tuned voice and tracks for all to hear.

Posted 01/25/2011 at 12:05pm | by The Mac|Life Staff When you’re done playing around with the iPhone’s many great games, consider goofing around with some of these quirky and often silly conversation-starting apps. Whether you’re using the iPhone to modify your voice or photos, or to simply trigger visual or audio gags, these options will keep you and your friends entertained. Big fans of long-running BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who will get a kick out of this free promotional app, which lets you record voice clips and play them back with the familiar robotic tone of the villainous Dalek alien race. Not only will your messages sound considerably more ridiculous with this voice synthesizer, but it’s likely the only place you’ll ever hear the Daleks say silly phrases like, “I’d love a thousand tacos!” It’s a win-win, and even if you’re not a Who junkie, it’s a fun app to keep

The North Point Community Church had a concert recently in Atlanta that featured a seven-man band made up of folks holding mostly iPads, but also a few iPhones. They run through Carol of the Bells using apps like SoundGrid, MelodyBell and iGog; Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree with Percussions, PocketOrgan, and Saxophone Musicofx; and Feliz Navidad with the help of I Am T-Pain, Bebot, and Guitarist. All-in-all, it’s a really great video, and can easily get any gadget geek in the holiday spirit. Yeah, okay, we get it, the iPhone can be used to create some decent music, but I can’t help but think any time a musician tries to do anything serious with one of Apple’s mobile products, they tend to come off as junky and gimmicky by anyone with professional equipment. When it’s just being done for something lighthearted like Christmas tunes though, it’s hard to deride them, especially

By – The fiddle (or violin) is a very difficult instrument to learn. It's also difficult to maintain: strings, the bow, and so on. While the experience may be very rewarding, some of us may just want to have fun with music. The folks at Smule are great with music-type Apps, and their latest is the Magic Fiddle. It's an application that emulates the sound of a fiddle. It sounds pretty nice, and the video above shows that it can be played to make some beautiful music. Smule is the maker of the Ocarina and the popular I Am T-Pain App At $2.99, it doesn't sound like a bad deal. Here's another one of our favorite music Apps, Seline HD: Related Posts

It's not perfect, but this video of the St. Lawrence String Quartet performing Pachelbel's Canon in D major is yet another example of how the iPad is revolutionizing music. Created by the innovative Ge Wang of Smule, the folks who have given us Ocarina, I Am T-Pain, Glee Karaoke, and Magic Piano, the US$2.99 Magic Fiddle turns your iPad into a lovely string instrument. No skill is required, and you can play songs that are included in the SongBook by following streams of colored light. If you really want to learn how to play, the StoryBook takes you through eight chapters of different techniques and instructions -- of course, you'll have to practice to master the Magic Fiddle. Enjoy watching the video, and if you and your friends happen to get good enough to do Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor on iPads, TUAW wants your video first -- just

By Ben Harvell on June 25th, 2010 Now you can see yourself sounding ridiculous Smule, developers of exciting and sometimes unusual music apps for iPhone, has updated the popular I Am T-Pain app for iPhone 4. The 1.5 update is free to all users and takes advantage of the video services available to developers in iOS4 and the new front-facing camera on the iPhone 4. If you’ve not tried the app before, I Am T-Pain is a novel tool that alters a user’s voice using the popular Auto-Tune effect found in modern pop music. The new version now allows you to capture video on the front-facing camera as you sing into your iPhone to a backing track chosen from a number of T-Pain’s own songs. Once recorded, songs and video can be shared to the web to sit alongside the over 29 million recordings by I Am T-Pain users so far.

Ok, so we're kind of cheating with this one; you probably already know about Twitterrific, if you don't actually have it installed on your iPhone. But we're using our daily app spotlight today to point out that the folks at Iconfactory have released version 3.0 of the popular Twitter client. Along with making the app universal (which means it now works on both iPhone and iPad), they've updated the interface and code for iOS 4. That means that it's not only , but it's faster and works with in-app switching as well. Twitterrific is a free app, with a US$4.99 in-app purchase to remove the ads and manage more Twitter accounts. That's not enough? Alright, we'll throw in a few more upgrades. Smule's popular I Am T-Pain app has also upgraded for iOS 4, making it not only ready for the Retina Display but also adding the ability to share auto-tuned

I’ve used Beatmaker and I Am T-Pain before, but not like this! I was sent this link and proceeded to watch the video with my jaw resting on the floor. Apparently, you can create covers of famous songs – that is if you have 4 iPhones, a lot of cables, and the right apps… Either way, AppleGirl002 is my new hero (granted, her voice is a bit rough around the edges, but you have to admire her tenacity). Although I can’t vouch for her original music, she’s done an excellent job of recreating the songs she is singing, and her setup is so mind-boggling and complex that you can’t help but admire her effort (and wonder how she figured out how to do it all). Also, apparently she used these videos as a platform to land a record deal. Now I just need to go purchase 3 more iPhones… Video Linked

The big knock against smartphones, iPods and iPads is that no one really needs one. There is no question you can get by without any of the nearly 300,000 mobile apps on the market. But if you ever felt the need to express yourself with music, and you test out some of the better apps, your definition of “need” may quickly wither. Tricked out with apps like Glee ($1), Band ($4), Bebot ($2) and others, the iPhone is history’s most versatile music creation device. The iPad offers a different and, in many ways, expanded dimension to the iPhone’s musical abilities, with apps like Magic Piano ($1), Air Harp ($2), Xewton Music Studio ($15) and Korg’s iElectribe ($10). And although users of other types of mobile phones, like the Android and the BlackBerry, are so far without these particular apps, they can still find a few decent ones to help tap into

by A girl going by the YouTube handle Applegirl002 has performed very accurate covers of Lady Gaga‘s “Poker Face” and Beyoncé‘s “Irreplaceable” solo using four iPhones. She set up the phones in her living room, pointed a video camera at the rig, and performed. For “Irreplaceable,” (currently at 885,920 views) she just used three iPhones, but she started the four-phone “Poker Face” video (1,167,000 views) by demonstrating which apps she was using and how she was using them to put together the composition. One iPhone — the one oriented like a microphone — was running the I Am T-Pain [iTunes link] Auto-Tune app. Two were running the BeatMaker [iTunes link] looping app an the other was running an unspecified analog synthesizer app. There have been other musical iPhone performances in the past, often using Smule’s Ocarina app — for example, the Stanford iPhone orchestra. Music apps are a huge category of apps, and 2009 was a huge year for music apps. Music Ally sums up the year's biggest music apps for us here. 2009 was the year of the App Store, as Apple passed the two-billion downloads milestone for its store. The year also saw labels and artists jumping onto the bandwagon with their own branded iPhone apps. The most successful, like Smule's I Am T-Pain (pictured right) sold tens of thousands of copies a day. It's only fair to point out that the vast majority sank down the app charts fairly quickly though – proving that iPhone apps provide a return on investment for the music industry wasn't a huge priority this year. Even so, there was plenty of creativity being put to work. To highlight it, we've chosen a selection of 40 branded music apps that we thought were innovative this year –

Incredible Fun

Version: 1.2
I can't believe how well this works on a phone. This is the coolest app ever we played with so far. Not only we can play with it ourselves, but I just sent a Happy Birthday voice email to a friend ... and he was totally wowed! Now I can use my iTunes library! Highly recommended!
Thanks for making sharing options easier, btw!
Lovin the update

Great app I wish there was an edit function. I'm not Jay-Z doing songs in one take.

Quality of update is excellent. Better performance accessing my itune library on my touch.

This is a fun app and I love the new update where you can play songs from your iTunes library.
Well worth the money

Truly a great app. Even better now that I can use my iTunes library to autotune away with! I did notice something though. When using iTunes library songs as a backing track, the mic on my phone cut out. This was while running the 3.0 firmware. I tested an iPod touch I had laying around that was running 3.0.1 and it had the same issue. I updated both operating systems to 3.1 and everything started working perfectly. So, anyone with this issue should update to 3.1 or newer. It is well worth the time and effort. I can autotune to Hendrix now (probably have him rolling in his grave, but in my eyes he would be stoked).
If I could get my money back, I would.

Fun application, but boring after a while.

The idea of putting an autotuner into an iphone is amazing. However, the idea of it being limited to Tpain songs isn't the most well thought out idea. This app was fun for a couple days, but since then I haven't found myself using it at all. Perhaps if we could load our own songs into it, sing along to the songs on our ipod, or something along these lines, then I would find myself using it more often.

very amusing second thought it when I seen it but now that I have it it's worth the money for sure
Great App with minor flaw
AppReviewer
Version: 1.0.1
This app is amazing! To have Antares Auto-Tune for $3 is awesome! I have enjoyed many hours of random singing into the app and it never gets dull. One issue I do have is that when I switch on the T-Pain switch when in freestyle, my voice doesn't change. It changes for everything else (different keys, the T-Pain effect during songs), but it just won't seem to work when I try to freestyle with that switch on. Hopefully I'm not the only one. Tried restarting/uninstall-reinstall/force quit-reopen but nothing seems to fix this. Other than this minor flaw, the app is everything I expected and more. Keep up the work Smule!!
Update:
The newest patch has fixed these issues making this app amazing now. Great job Smule! Can't wait to see what's ahead!
A lot of fun

I just got my new iPod Touch (with microphone in the headset) and I am having so much fun! I still don't sing very well, but it's fun to sing songs that T-Pain would probably NEVER sing, and get an idea what they would sound like if he did.
Awesome!!!!!!!

My god this is fun. Me and my friend spent hours sending stupid rediculous songs back and forth to eachother. Totally worth 3 dollars no matter if that fatty down the list doesn't think so. Let him spend his 3 dollars on cheeseburgers. U need to buy this app!!!!! Plus it's got I'm on a boat so
It should be required everyone buys it.

It's definitely a funny app, but the programming behind it is really spectacular. I'm a musician and I'm now using this app on stage as a novelty at my gig. I can plug the iphone audio out into my PA, turn the volume down on my iphone with the app running when I'm not using the auto tune/iphone as my mic (to avoid feedback loops and weird unwanted auto-tune effects when I'm not going for that), and turn the volume up on the iphone and sing into the phone when I want the auto-tune effect. It works amazingly well and it's a cool novelty for perfomance. Thanks antares! Well worth the 3 bucks.

Love, love, love this app. Really, it completely validates my iPhone purchase. I just wish I could use this when listening to my own music or when talking on the phone. Also, while headphones mean more privacy, I get better sounding results when I talk directly into the headset.
Best use of $3 in a long time. Let someone else buy u a drank and get this app.
Amazing. Just amazing.

iamtpain, brilliant mix of app dev+tech+marketing. has builtin store selling add on karaoke tracks. even if u hate autotune, this is genius. if there were only a way to import your own music and customize the lyrics... this is the end of the magic mic at parties... hello iamtpain. just give us some more songs to sing to and let us import our own tracks!
I AM T-PAIN! It's worth the 3 bucks!

I normally won't buy any apps that actually cost money. This is the 3rd one out of 6 pages worth of apps that's I've bought over the last 2 months.
It's totally worth the money. It's a wry well built app and the autotune is very cool, even though it doesn't seem to really work that well with my voice. Hah. :(
Anyhow, 5 stars all the way and I hope Smule finds want of making this app even better!

I saw this app on gizmodo and thought the autotune feature was gonna be crap, I was wrong, it's freakin' awesome!! I sound nothing like T-PAIN but I can have the autotune feature and sound like a retarded T-PAIN. I guess I need to find a scale that suits me but you have alot of flexibilty and control on how you voice sounds. Trust me, you won't like the way it sounds when you have headphones and sing, but when you play it back, you'll be in tune and won't sound like a retarded T-PAIN. This is a badass app and highly recomend it to anyone. (I'm sure I misspelled something)
Love it

No one should underestimate the complexity of putting such a CPU intensive task such as Auto-Tune on your phone. The people at Smule and Antares clearly know what they are doing. By the way, this same technology will costs several hundred dollars to set up on a Mac/PC, not too mention additional hardware costs etc. This is clearly the best value on the iPhone, period. And by the way, the App works great. My basic test: a quick glissando up and down an Octave in two different registers. Perfection! I'm shocked, as the sampling rate of the iPhone hardware can't be great (4k?).

This app is the !! T-Pain is going to make a killing on this. I just wish it came with a couple more free songs. I just bought "buy me a drink", but it won't download. Keeps freezing. That's why it didn't get 5 stars. Totally worth the 3 bucks. Very entertaining. Nice!!

First off I love SMULE. Great apps. This is NOT one of them. The interface is cute vs. really functional. It's a far fry from other apps you guys have done so while it's cute, it's not something that works. The AUTOTUNE effect is ok, but not really apparent in even the simplest of things that are sung into the microphone. So based on the functions of the app and the results coming out of it...have to rate this 1 star because they don't offer a ZERO STARS rating. Hope the next version fixes things offers some different functionality and also I think it's tacky to have an app be an interface for additional revenue by offering more songs for sale through it. Come on, guys you can be much better than that. $2.99 is enough for the app.
