I paid the $3.99 and the app doesn't work because it can't find my location. All other GPS apps work just fine. Bummer it cost me 4 bucks to figure this out!!

I have downloaded and set up the account then tries it. It found me right away. My exact location was shown on the map right sown to the exact parking stall I was in. Of course the real test will be if it works in a real theft situation or not. If I forget or don't bother turning it on it won't work but it's better to get into the habit of turning it on. Then again I don't ever leave any cell phone just laying around anyways. Personal responsibility is the ultimate security system .

I finally got it set up after spending three bucks and signing up for the service through paypal, only to find that it located it a couple miles away from my actual location. Then the LAST help page FAQ listing explains that it's a violation of privacy laws to show the exact location, so it only shows the location of your ISP. If you do lose it and find the ISP of the theif, all you can do is print a report and give it to the cops, so they can sort it out with the ISP. This is a total waste of time and money and is very misleading.

Read the fine print. This app requires an additional subscription fee to monitor your iphone's location. Apple should have a pop-up disclaimer or something to warn consumers. Now I'm out two bucks.

This is the app i wish i had before i had lost my first iPhone. now on my second one, and having paid the un-subsidized price ($400), it is well worth the money to have an app that can send real data to help you find your lost/misplaced/stolen phone. the other similar apps require the "honest" side of people to play a part as well to help get the phone back to the owner (putting a background image with your info, alternate phone number). This app however has real features like actual locations that get logged, and tied in with google maps, so you can get visuals to where your phone actually is!
Already lost my first iPhone, making sure I don't lose a second.

I lost my first iPhone in a taxi about a month ago when it fell out of my pocket. Since AT&T makes you change your number if you lose your iPhone, this awesome little application would have saved me $400 and a lot of lost memories. Wish I had this a long time ago!! $4 vs. $400, it's no brainer.

Not worth the money. You have to physically restart the app everytime you finish using the phone, if we could remember to do that every time, we would remember to put our phone in a safe place. This app is useless.

Great idea and program! It's so great that apple should allow this program to run in the background or come out with it's own version of iPhone tracker. Oh, wait. They already have that. They call it gps, but they aren't gonna use it to find a lost or stolen phone if ATT could score more money with the iphone being activated under a new account. Anything for that last bittersweet dollar.

1. Should run in background, so you don't have to remember to start app every time you finish using phone.
2. Needs to have ability to change how often it sends gps data. Defualt sends like every 30 seconds using too much battery power. If I lost my phone I only need to know where it is sitting, it is most likley not moving.

The only way this app is helpful is if you plan to lose it and keep the app running whenever you're not using some other app OR you lose it or it's stolen and the person who has it starts iHound so that you can find them. This might become useful if a lost/stolen report causes a server to ping it and discover its location even if the app is not running, something the operating system can't yet do.

I tried out iHound on my iPhone all day today, and just as promised, it kept track of everywhere I went and displayed all my locations on a map. Just can't forget to turn off my iPhone without opening up iHound first!
