I really got spoiled by the earlier versions of NetNewsWire, but it eventually began to get crankier and crankier under the load of more and more feeds. I waited till NetNewsWire 2.0 was released in hopes of seeing some improvements. It dissapointed me so I look at other RSS readers. NewsStand seemed possible, but not quite there yet, so I settled on MobileRSS. It is "Good", but not "Great". The interface is ok, but the speed is a little slow as seems to be the case with most readers once you get in the 1,000 feed area so I can't fault it much for that. However, the "Download All Feeds" crash bug is killing me. I can be at my main feeds display or even inside a folder and "Download All Feeds" results in a crash every time. Other than that, it is a fairly good reader.

whens the update? how about a home button in screens as you go into feeds?clicking numerous times to go home is annoying!

This has replaced Byline, NNW and NewsStand - it's incredibly fast and is almost identical to the native Google Reader mobile site in terms of functionality. I'm not the biggest fan of the UI but it's simple and works. Wish I could adjust the font size of lists and RSS feeds so I can see more when I click on a folder or subscription. Landscape option would be nice but not neccesary (for me). Speed is everything though and this is just as fast (if not faster) than Byline.

Better offlie support would be awesome but a great app as is

With the updates that just came out tonight, this rss reader is perfect. Just as good as reading on a full computer. Great job guys. I don't ever rate apps but this deserves it. Thank you!!

New version (1.1) is the best RSS reader. Very fast with a slick interface.

After trying several RSS readers on a daily basis, I dropped them all for Google Reader. Then, this app read my mind with perfect solution. Improvement suggestions: star & read toggle while off-line

This has to be the best google reader app I've ever tried. The only thing I don't like is the icon because it looks a little rubbish like most low quality apps are which this isn't!

I've been using this app for about two months and have no complains to it at all. All features I need were well implemented. When most RSS reader apps focus on offline viewing, there are people like me who is always connected and want a better RSS reading experience than the web app version of google reader.

Other rss readers are so slow compared to this! I hear byline is good, but I really like this!

Some feeds are displayed wrong. Submitted a bug report at the developers web site a month ago and got absolutly no response. Can't recommend the app due to the bugs and can't recomend the developer due to lack of response to bug reports.

The app is generally very quick, except for frequent pauses when switching from articles back to lists. Pauses can be a few seconds before the app becomes responsive again. I have about 200 feeds and average about 1800 messages unread each time I use the app, so I may be taxing it a little, but the pauses really marr an otherwise good user experience. There are a few quibbles: Popular functions are buried in a couple places. Having to go into a menu to Mark All Read means you shouldn't also require a confirmation dialog once you've chosen to do so, there's really no way you could have clicked it accidentally. It's not obvious what a couple of the button icons mean. Starred items should show as starred in lists. Unstarring items is not an obvious process. Deleting notes should be possible with a swipe, like a regular edit list, not need two button clicks. All in, this isn't the best experience I've had with rss on the iPhone, but it has the potential to be best-of-breed if the pauses can be fixed and the user interface gets just a little more fluid. UPDATE: Been using this for a few weeks now, and my initial impressions seem to be holding up: beautiful user interface, but terribly slow with lots of lag in the UI. I hope the developers address this. The new NetNewsWire isn't as pretty, but it's much smoother and faster.

All unread would be nice, but A+ app fir sure. 

UPDATE 15 Sept 09: 1.0.1 is a great update. This app got better and the developers have responded to some of the reviewers, especially by incorporating Instapaper integration. Thank-you very much.

I've been waiting for a good client for Google Reader and this may be it. However it's lacking a few features as others have pointed out: Landscape mode would be nice. Would like to be able to show only new items. This is a big issue for me.

Doesn't filter new bs read items. Doesn't filter subscriptions with new items. Puts tags before subscriiptions. No way to select which subscriptions you want to sync. Maybe next version wll add these an other features and make it with the $$$.

Can you read your Google Reader feeds? Yes, but the free Google app does that too, just as well. Offline? Yes, and the Google app CANNOT do this. Does it do anything else that the Google App doesn't? No, not that I can tell. In fact, given the choice, there isn't enough, YET, in MobileRSS that will cause me to give up the Google App. This is more a novelty than a neccessity, and not quite ready for prime time.

I use google reader to keep up with my medical journals, and this makes reading them much more attractive. I'm looking forward to the updates!

Been using gazatte for a long while and for the most part its been good, but mobileRSS is pretty great, enough that I moved to it. (also tried byline and about 5 others.)

This is just what I need in an RSS reader. Simple Google Reader syncing - no muss, no fuss. Get it while it's free!

Fast, smooth, Google connected. Please add landscape mode and a "Mark As Read" for the current view of items. I use Feeds. It's currently the best for Google. Most important feature is ability to read all feeds in one list chronologically. Looking forward to update.

Very nice app with clean and attractive interface. I agree with the suggestions below with two additional: the ability to view the app in landscape, and to view items from oldest to newest. This is the first rss app worth keeping.

I am a long time user of Manifesto. I have tried Feeds, ProRSS, etc and this one beats them all. Extremely fast sync and truly syncs with google reader marking those feeds read as well. Very impressed. Looking forward to the folder upgrades the dev has mentioned as well. Only thing I would like to see is when you select All Feeds is that it have the ability to sort by group and have the group name as a header above each (like Manifesto's aggregate view). 5* app

I've tried Byline, Feeds, Doppler, NNW and this is by far the best RSS reader I've used. It's fast, syncs perfectly and has a great UI. Get it, it's worth it!

Quick, but occasionally has trouble making the connection (could be my 3g, too). Otherwise, a really solid RSS reader. Fast, but if you want to download all images, it seems to take awhile. Great work by the developers!

buy byline until fixed

Great app! Just one thing. Already mentioned by other reviewers, I want to be able to view only folders for which I have unread items, and only see those unread items within said folders.

Much better than Byline. Faster and better interface.
