Moodagent ($4.99 or Free), the excellent mood-based playlist maker, was updated earlier today to version 2.2. No big new features here, although I was surprised to find out that iOS 4 fast app switching wasn’t actually supported in previous versions. Patrick took a look at Moodagent back in January, but the app has seen a fairly major update since then. There are two separate Moodagent apps now, although the only difference between them is that one is ad-supported, and the other is not. I used the free version of the app for over a month before receiving a promo code for this quick re-review, and I can honestly say that the difference isn’t all that noticeable. The more notable differences between Moodagent 1.x and 2.x are social networking integration and some seriously detailed playlist management. After the iPhone and Nokia smartphones, Syntonetic is bringing its Moodagent music app to devices running Android 1.5 or higher. The application creates mood-based playlists using sliders labeled Sensual, Tender, Happy, Angry and Tempo. A good number of us at TUAW love Syntonetic's Moodagent app; it creates instant playlists around a mood you select, fitting the music to your state of mind. We reviewed it in December, and caught up with Syntonetic's president Richard French at Macworld who told me that the app had created profiles for over 30 million songs and has had over 1 billion songs requested. I gave him a laundry list of feature requests. He told me that most if not all of my suggestions would be incorporated into the app in the next 3-6 months.
