I do like the variety of categories. Ads are intrusive. Dont care for the color wheel selection. Not natual for eye flow. I have to remember that MSNBC is extremely biased in their journalism so I can't rely on it as my only news source.

What a huge disappointment. The network with by far the best content has what is probably the worst iPhone app. As much as I can't stand the iPhone App Store approval process, I think this is one instance where an app SHOULD have been denied. Of all the news applications out there this is quite frankly the most poorly executed mobile offering. The graphical user interface is a seizure inducing nightmare that publishes subpar audio / video quality reminding me of the old days of crummy dialup quality even when I'm connected over WiFi / Broadband. The Facebook Connect feature simply doesn't work and does not use the mobile FB interface correctly. Be the leader in cable news television that you are and do this app right. You need to get the developers that did the other NBC Universal apps to take over and redo this MSNBC app. If you have to put some money into it to get it right, so be it. Charge users if you must, personally I'd gladly pay it. ($1.99 just like CNN seems about the right price.) This free app is horrible and desperately needs a replacement. Forgive me for being harsh but it's how I show my love.

I'm a msnbc news hound to begin with. This is a nice app. LOVE the different creative layout. Not your typical boring news layout.

I know it's free, but the BB ads are just annoying. They're everywhere. Top stories don't match mobile site or main site. Navigation is distracting. Take a cue from USAToday app.

Finally someone came up with a new interface for their news app. Everything works great for me. Stories load quick and images and videos look good. I like it, try it out.

Love MSNBC (except for that creepy Joe Scarborough) & this app is great as a companion tool. I especially like the Twitter interface. One suggestion though... the menu design is poor. Reading in a circle is just plain dumb. I suppose they're trying to make it look like their peacock feathers logo, but it just doesn't work visually & often results in touching the wrong menu choice.

The user interface is great but there should be a way to uncheck all "shows" other than Joe Scarborough. As an avid newsreader, a concerned citizen and an adult living in the real world, I'm only interested in the TRUTH. If I was interested in propaganda I would watch Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow on the cable network. This iphone application unfortunately doesn't offer that option and should be updated to let the end user select only the programs which they wish to receive.

....you need to be able to turn off the sound (clicks). Without that ability, I must delete this app.

This app takes waaaaay to long to start up. It's also hideous. It feels very amateurish compared to the USA today app. The headlines idea has promise, but I don't think it's there yet. Flow? Really?

Very well done. Easy post to twitter is so smart.

I like how I can use this app in airplane mode. All the data is there and I can read news without being connected on long flights.

Com on seriously they should feel privileged to be writing the msnbc app. It's ugly. Also, the video is kinda slow and low quality on wifi, the layout is ok but jumpy, and the font doesn't match the theme- change to arial or something more modern. Otherwise good app with lots of great content.

Best news reader so far. Excellent iPhone-friendly interface. The only thing I wish it would do is allow a greater quantity of news articles for us junkies

I like news apps that make it easy to switch categories and don't overwhelm me with ads. The ads are tiny (I expect them because the app is free) and the app is very responsive. It's easy to watch the headlines flow by and the NBC peacock browser is kinda cute. If you're not skilled at reading things upside down you might find yourself turning either your head, your iPhone, or both to see the categories, but this is not a problem.

A good start, but this app needs improvement. 1st, ads are placed in the middle of the page in-between stories; this makes it too difficult to manually scroll through the list of stories on the main page without accidentally selecting an ad; it would be much better if ads were placed in a fixed location that doesn't interfere with scrolling. 2nd, there should be a way to keep the flow paused without having to stop it each time you run the app.

I like the application but needs some enhancementes!

This has so much relevant news content, yet runs super fast on my phone. It's also very pretty!

Like to see a new spin on this type of app. Give this one a chance.

It's about time MSNBC launched an iPhone app, they're going HD on Monday and features in this app are great! There's a full circle of topics and see updates of MSNBC personalities on Twitter. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. 5 stars!
