Pages has everything you need to create and share documents, including beautiful Apple-designed templates, easy-to-use formatting options, and advanced layout tools. Start with the perfect template and its matching styles. Or personalize your document using your choice of colors, fonts, and textures. Pages makes it easy to format your document. Style text, insert tabs, and set indents and margins with the streamlined style ruler. Use the Media Browser to add photos and videos from your Photos app. And make them look great with masks, shadows, reflections, and picture frames. You can resize, rotate, and move images around the page, and dynamic word wrapping automatically flows your text around them. Touch and tap to convert your document to multiple columns and insert tables to organize your data.
When your document is complete, show your work right on your iPad using full-screen view. You can also send your document to anyone via Mail, share it with iWork.com public beta, or export it and use iTunes File Sharing to move the file to your computer.

The update to those apps that bring this support is now available. I am particularly excited about using Numbers with iCloud. I use Numbers on my iPad to record my students’ grades, but sometimes I forget to bring my iPad to class. It never fails that those are the days that a student notices that I made a mistake and needs a grade changed. Before iCloud, I would make a note in my notes app and make the change later. All were originally desktop applications that made their way to the iPad. The question is: Does this work for you? The Plus Side We're not crazy enough to take our iPad or MacBook EVERYWHERE we go. While this may indeed be the case, this latest commercial isn’t as iconic as others, and perhaps doesn’t show the range of the iPad’s apps that others have. Apple continue to launch the iPad around the world, with 11 new countries added to the list this week. The lucky ones are Taiwan, Malaysia, South Korea, Sweden, Portugal, Poland, Norway, Hungary, Finland, Denmark and the Czech Republic, where both the Wi-Fi and 3G models should be available from your Apple dealer. A new TV advert has also made its debut this week, entitled ‘iPad is Amazing’. Although it doesn’t break with tradition too much, this new ad highlights some of the new features of iOS 4.2 rather than concentrating on a particular app genre as recent ads have done. It features: We’ve come to expect Pages and some of the standard apps to make an appearance, but the odd-one-out here is AirStrip, a very specific medical application designed for doctors working in hospitals where a particular piece of equipment is being used. Apple released a fresh update of its iPad productivity suite iWork yesterday, and what makes it worthwhile is that it finally makes Keynote a useful presentation tool. This update supports core iOS 4.2 features such as AirPrint and multitasking. The update also brings better PDF exporting, and provides some fixes for font issues that arise on export. As mentioned, the update finally brings the iPad into the arena of truly powerful presentation tools: Keynote for iPad 1.3 now supports a presenter’s view of sorts. Today I want to tell you about an iPad app.There are a ton of word processing apps for the iPad and, in my opinion, Pages is still the best by far due to the rich feature set. This might change, however, if Apple ever decides to open up their styled-text and other iWork suite APIs to developers. One of my biggest gripes about iWork for iPad has been the absolutely unwarranted pain it was to get files onto and off of the device. For a company that prides itself on the user experience, file transfers from the web into Apple’s own suite of productivity apps was downright embarrassing. The iWork 1.2 update for iPad brings about a whole host of welcome improvements, the best one in my opinion being the ability to import and export directly from iDisk, or any WebDAV-supported virtual disk. Dropbox isn’t WebDAV, unfortunately, and I wouldn’t hold my breath for Dropbox support. Until now, Pages was the only one of the three apps that could export to its MS Office counterpart, but now, all three can export to Office-compatible formats. It seems that Apple is working to bring the iWork apps to the iPhone. Now available for the iPad, Keynote, Pages and Numbers were among the top sellers for many weeks after their release, making some users eager for iPhone editions. While browsing the Canadian online Apple Store, Engadget noticed that, if you select an unlocked iPhone, you see a blurb about "iWork for iPhone." iWork users rejoice! Apple is updating Pages, Numbers and Keynote for the iPad. A quick check at the app store or through iTunes should get you all sparkly and new. In Pages, one of the big fixes is that the tool and ruler and now available in Landscape view. That's a biggy because you had to be in portrait view to see any of those tools in version 1.0. According to a report today published by Business Insider, Apple has generated somewhere around $3 million in revenue from their iWork iPad apps — which includes Pages, Keynote, and Numbers — since the iPad’s U.S. launch early in April. They believe if this trend continues, the suite of apps could bring in $40 million per year. So how did they come up with these numbers? Let’s take a quick look. I am floored by the functionality that was designed into arguably the best word processor on the market. Marketing for my work has always been so much easier with Pages, but touch functionality will really speed things up. I am looking forward to losing the mouse in this app. The Page Navigator loop is a great innovation. The export to iWork.com feature is also going to be a big benefit for sharing documents easily. The frank simplicity of this Pages for iPad app has really blown me away. The finish and style of every minute part of this app has been perfected to the utmost. The elegant built-in Apple styles and terrific fullscreen landscape mode make completing a document faster than ever. The soft keyboard is fabulous in landscape mode for nearly all documents, and is even fairly useable in portrait mode as well. The ways in which you will find yourself developing documents with this app will have you wanting to use nothing else but this. The built-in thesaurus is an extra tool that is exceptionally handy and very intuitive to use. Overall a fabulous app and well worth purchasing. Thumbs up!
