Favorite Four: Updating Multiple Social Networks
Mini_discussion_bubble 148 Apps - Posted Wed, 23 Mar 2011 17:30:06 UTC +00:00
My rundown of the best apps to use with multiple social networks. If you’re anything like me, you’re probably attached at the hip to your social networks. However, I know I’m not the only one who has many that I’ve abandoned simply out of frustration of having to constantly check and update different pages or apps for each one. With this in mind I’ve put together a Favorite Four that the update-aholics can appreciate. Here are a few of my favorite iPhone apps to update multiple sites at once. Tweetdeck I put this one here first not because it’s necessarily the best, but it is definitely one of the more well-known. Tweetdeck is what I personally use most often since I’ve cut down my addiction to just the essentials, Twitter and Facebook, which is exactly just what Tweetdeck works with. It’s a great app for both reading and updating. While it Read More
Pixelpipe; Your Answer for Uploading to Social Media
Mini_discussion_bubble 148 Apps - Posted Mon, 21 Mar 2011 14:30:13 UTC +00:00
Pixelpipe is the Social Networking uploader tool you've been waiting for. So, you’ve one one of the best devices for taking photos, videos, saving, sending and sharing whatever you want with the world, but there’s just one tricky problem: uploading them. I think we can all agree that iTunes syncing is just about everybody’s least favorite way to get media off of an iOS device. After that, uploading everything individually to each site you use can be a pain in the neck. When you’re just sending one pic or video to Twitter or Facebook it’s pretty easy, sure. What about when you want to send a lot? Or want to send to multiple sites? Most of us have several online depositories for our stuff (Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox, need I go on?) that it’s sometimes more difficult to upload than is worth the trouble. Enter Pixelpipe – my new favourite uploader, Read More

Upload 720p Video Directly from Your iPhone
Mini_discussion_bubble iPod Touch Fans - Posted Tue, 10 Aug 2010 17:33:55 UTC +00:00
posted by Trey Trawick on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 10:33 am.   By default, the iPhone 4 can only upload video in standard definition, which makes sense for those using 3g, but the same limitation applies even when you are on WiFi. If your wondering how to upload those beautiful 720p videos from your iPhone 4 to YouTube or any other website, then check out PixelPipe HD. It supports basically every major service, from Dropbox to Twitter and everything in between. Liberate your media with Pixelpipe and get your media off of your iPhone and out to your favorite social network, micro-blog, photo/video and blog services. With over 110 supported destinations from around the world to choose from the choice is really yours. Free your media and share your life. The app allows you to queue various media to be uploaded in the background, and supports files up to 225MB. When choosing Read More

Pixelpipe Allows OTA Uploads of HD Video
Mini_discussion_bubble ModMyi.com - Posted Thu, 01 Jul 2010 21:51:32 UTC +00:00
After news that one of the increasingly common one-liner Steve jobs emails promised HD video uploads over the air from your iPhone 4 "in the future," word spread that Pixelpipe's app can already do just that. With 720p uploads to YouTube, Facebook, and "over 100 supported destinations," Pixelpipe's free app [iTunes link] lets you share the HD videos immediately, without the intermediate step of sideloading them to a PC. MacDailyNews reader "Chris T." was the latest to write the Apple CEO and demand an answer to a (totally reasonable) question: "What's the point of building in HD video capabilities when the compression upon uploading directly to youtube makes the video's useless and not viewable?" Jobs's response: "You can upload them via a Mac or PC today. Over the air in the future." The limitation - which has been widely lamented - might have be reasonable if it were only imposed on Read More
How to Export iPhone 4 Videos in Full Resolution
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhone Download Blog - Posted Thu, 01 Jul 2010 15:58:17 UTC +00:00
The iPhone 4 video camera can shoot movies in full HD at a resolution of 720p, but the problem is these videos are scaled down to a maximum resolution of 568 x 320 anytime you try to export them to YouTube or via email or MMS. So far, the only way to get your video exported in full res is to transfer them off to your computer. Not very convenient for a mobile device… Fortunately, there’s an app for that. Pixelpipe, a free application in the App Store, will export your mobile videos in full HD 720p up to 200 MB to YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, MobileMe, Viddler, Posterous and a bunch of other sites. You can also email or upload those videos via FTP. Additionally, Pixelpipe has been updated for iOS 4 and allows full multitasking for background uploading, which might come in handy if you upload a 190 MB video Read More

If you were disappointed that you can't upload full 720p video from your iPhone 4 to YouTube without transferring it to a computer first, then check out the latest update to the free app Pixelpipe. While there has been some speculation over whether app developers would be able to access the full-resolution videos for sharing, commenters were quick to assure us there was no reason to worry. Pixelpipe claims that it will share your edited mobile masterpiece in all its splendor not only with YouTube but also to Flickr, Facebook, MobileMe, Viddler, Posterous and a bunch of other video-capable sites (as well email and FTP) for videos up to 200MB. The update to 2.01 is also quick to add iOS 4.0 multitasking for background uploading and should continue to serve as a semi-ubiquitous multi-tool for getting our videos (and pictures) uploaded almost anywhere you want them to go. It's Official: Flickr Comes to App Store
Mini_discussion_bubble ReadWriteWeb - Posted Tue, 08 Sep 2009 14:06:25 UTC +00:00
Well, that certainly took long enough. Despite being one of the most popular photo-sharing web sites on the net today, Flickr hasn't had an official presence in the iTunes App Store until now. The company has just launched their new iPhone application, available here, which lets you both browse and upload photos and videos from your handset. As you would expect, the new Flickr iPhone application allows you to "shoot, upload, and share" your photos and videos using your handheld device. It supports geo-tagging photos thanks to the iPhone's GPS capabilities as well as adding photos to sets. You can also use the official app to browse your own photos by sets or tags and track the recent uploads from your Flickr friends. A universal search feature is included too, for searching public photos. (A nice way to grab some new wallpaper for your iPhone's lockscreen). For a long time, it Read More
Free Reign - Free iPhone Apps Roundup #6
Mini_discussion_bubble iSource - Posted Mon, 13 Jul 2009 08:13:48 UTC +00:00
I finally got my 3GS this week, so the two apps I’m covering are both photography based. I left it to Patrick to round out the selection, since he loves rounding out selections (don’t read into that, it doesn’t actually mean anything). Here’s what we were rocking in the free world for this week: Sportacular Concept: A sports scores, news and updates app. Strengths: Very nice UI (better than Sports Tap and ESPN IMO), covers a good range of sports, has tons of features – e.g. uses Facebook Connect to let you share comments on games etc, and lets you track your fantasy players. Non-Strengths: Could add some more sports to its range of coverage, especially non-US ones. Overall:  A good option for iPhone sports fans. Pixelpipe Concept: The mother of all media sharing, micro-blogging apps for the iPhone. Share photos, videos (from the new 3GS), or micro-blog text to a Read More

Mini_discussion_bubble Apple iPhone Apps - Posted Wed, 01 Jul 2009 20:52:55 UTC +00:00
I have an unwritten rule about my iPhone – nothing can be exclusively stored on it. Lots of bad things can happen to an iPhone. The device can be lost, stolen or destroyed. The apps are constantly updated and and they can be accidentally unsynced, deleted or corrupted. It can get jailbroken or restored too. I’ve lost my content enough times over the years that I’ve been pursuing ways of ensuring that wouldn’t happen on my iPhone. I don’t want any of my contacts, calendars, photos, videos, tasks, text messages or notes to be lost. Ever. This week I’ll talk to you about some well-downloaded apps and services that you might want to give a second look at. But, first, I want to point you to a couple cool apps I found this week. I don’t know what the replay value of this game will be, but for a few minutes Read More
First Look: Pixelpipe 1.4.1
Mini_discussion_bubble TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog - Posted Tue, 23 Jun 2009 06:00:00 UTC +00:00
So you got a shiny new 3GS (no more space!) and are looking for new ways to play with the new videos you've recorded? If the iPhone's built in YouTube uploading functionality isn't quite enough for you, Pixelpipe has stepped in to fill the void and allow you to send that video (or photo) to over 40 services quickly and easily. I set up the application to send to Twitter and Picasa, and the uploads went exactly as advertised. It should be noted that when sending video to services that don't support direct uploads (such as Twitter), the video is sent to Pixelpipe's servers and linked from your account. On the Pixelpipe site, the video is displayed in its native .mov format, so PC owners may have a hard time viewing the video if they don't have QuickTime installed. Pixelpipe (iTunes link) is a free download and supports uploading video to Read More
Hidden Gems: Keep An Eye On These Apps
Mini_discussion_bubble Apple iPhone Apps - Posted Fri, 12 Jun 2009 22:09:51 UTC +00:00
We’re at the end of an era. It’s hard to believe we’ve only had the App Store, and iPhone OS 2.0, for a little less than a year. But, alas, the time of iPhone OS 2.0 is coming to a close. Phone OS 3.0 will hit next week. Soon we’ll be able to install it on our iPhones and iTouches and we’ll all begin exploring the updated offerings of the App Store. It has been a long time coming and I’m as anxious as you to see the promise of push notifications fulfilled as hundreds, if not thousands, of apps start to send out sounds, text updates and badges to your iPhone’s home screen. In the meantime, I want to bring your attention to a couple apps you should keep an eye on as 3.0 hits. One has proven to be the best of breed in what will soon become an Read More

Probably an okay app but...
GOLIATHGUN 1.0 stars Version: 1.4.2
I'm not interested in signing up for an account with them just to access my Picasa account. Be nice if the description pointed thy out.
Great app!!!
Tigrao 5.0 stars Version: 1.4.2
I felt compelled to write this due to all of the negative reviews I read. This app has not crashed since I installed it. It has done exactly what the author said it would, uploads my photos to the sites I have indicated. One click and they go everywhere I have configured. The folks reporting crashes are likely the same folks reporting crashes in every other app out there as well; your preferences for the phone itself are likely corrupt. Reset your settings and set it up as a new phone would most likely fix that for you. Shozu may have gone here first, but who wants to pay $6 when you can do it for free? Solid app, great service, I obviously recommend it!
Crash crash crash
Cards42 1.0 stars Version: 1.4.2
Will not load!! Crashes every time!!!! Please fix and I will adjust the rating!
Not as good as it sounds
Mr. Renn 2.0 stars Version: 1.2
I have using this app for two weeks and even ok the 3g network with 4 signal bars it takes forever to upload a picture on the lowest resolution. Actually, most of the time it doesn't upload at all. Thank God it's free because it doesn't work.
Barely more than a webapp
oakie51 2.0 stars Version: 1.1
Extremely clunky as it would crash upon starting every third or fourth time. The upload list won't clear even when I press the clear button, and all of the settings are web based, most irritating since even their website is inconsistent as it switches between an iPhone optimized view and a standard web view. It has promise, but as for now it's less than half baked and even for being free I feel my time was wasted just trying their obvious alpha.
Very... odd
Muertecaramelo 2.0 stars Version: 1.3
Confusing app. Needs registering to a third party portal and has a lot of bugs that make it freeze. Didn't work for me
Great app!
Squarerules 4.0 stars Version: 1.3
Works great with fotki!
Where are my photos?
Biorhythm 1.0 stars Version: 1.1
Most of the photos I want to upload are not in the column/list, so where are they? When you take photos, they don't even show up in the list of available photos. Like the other reviewer wrote, I'm pretty stumped by this. The photos you can choose to upload are in a column/list, but can you imagine if you want to upload a photo at the bottom of that list of thousands of images? It takes forever to swipe down, and half the time it crashes.
Arrgghh!
Fobby Digital 1.0 stars Version: 1.3
Ultimately a letdown because it can't even upload videos to YouTube.
Pretty Awesome!
Djnvz 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
Works really well with Picasa even the picture orientation! Not so much on Box.net (as it did upload picutures sideways) - but for the speed and being that it's Free - totally worth it. :)
Must have app!
aagrajagg 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
I use multiple sites for photo upload, and have neither the time orpatience to upload each photo individually to each site. Pixelpipe solves both problems effortlessly. It's like Ping.fm for photos.
Must have!!!!
Hoodsy7 3.0 stars Version: 1.3
This App is indispensible for anyone who used shutterfly or something in that vein. It makes uploading pics of my daughter from my iPhone a breeze. It would be nice to be able to browse other than camera roll... But easily remedied by emailing them to myself. VERY USEFUL!
Upload / email FULL RESOUTION from camera roll
TitoLebron 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Set up a little clunky but afterwards performs as advertised. Can distribute emails with your photos to a pre-selected list of people. Images remain in FULL resolution which is a key differentiator from other similar apps. Good job!!
Sluggish performance
atinyblip 1.0 stars Version: 1.3
This app may have gotten high points from users who had gotten it working. This app didn't work for me initially; creating an account from within the app failed; I had to visit PixelPipe's web site with a Mac. Even so, I was hit by errors in the sign-up process a couple of times before the sign-up was successful; I was advised the username of my choice was unavailable, so I picked another username. Going back to the iPhone app, I reset authorization and launched the app. It authorized the original username which PixelPipe's server said was unavailable. Trying to add a destination was a painfully slow process. The list of destinations took forever to load, and it made me think that, if the whole sign-up process is so sluggish and error-ridden to begin with, I wasn't about to sit through its potentially slow uploading performance.
Original geotag works with flickr
Mrbasher 4.0 stars Version: 1.3
I had a long thing written here and my nick was used already so I lost it... Basically it is the only app I have found that actually uses the geotag from when the picture was taken, even using the normal camera app on the phone. Select the option to upload the pic using email then put in the email address flickr gives you for this. Also be sure to reset your location services answers here: settings, general, scroll to bottom, reset. You'll see it. Stop looking and wishing, it works. Tested tons of times. Also firmware 2.2 fixed the problem with wrong coordinates in the exif data. Nothing is stripped if you use this method. Update: best accuracy on photo coordinates will be obtained if you have been using your phone for awhile right before you take the photo. If not, simply open up the google maps app and let it pinpoint your position before taking the pic. Otherwise it will use the most recent location info for the pic. (the camera app, not pixelpipe)
Sh!ts...
VANEASY 1.0 stars Version: 1.3
Weak. Can't set up with YouTube.
Fricken Sweet!
PixelPresence 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Pixelpipe delivers my photos all over the web! It's just fun being able to upload everywhere and have so many more people comment on my work.
Awesome app, must have!
Drunktank 5.0 stars Version: 1.3
What a great app for uploading your images to multiple places with a single click. Thanks!
Coolbut
Little boy 2.0 stars Version: 1.3
Crashes way to much
In love
nickdanieldesign 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
Just use this app for facebook and my website and it works 100% also fast upload on Wifi/"3G" abput 20 sec for "E"
Uploaded pickture sideways to some sites...
wrizacked 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
...which is very annoying. Picture was right side up @ Flickr, but sideways on facebook, twitpic, friendfeed, etc. I'll stick with Ping.fm. Thx. UI was OK, and i did like the ability to caption, describe and tag photos. Just fix the uploading issues...
Pixelpipe was just what I was looking for
Marycass 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
This app is amazing. Except for that problem of turning all my images sideways. This is exactly what I was looking for. I can easily upload to multiple sites right from my phone, and it loads really quickly even when I'm not on wifi. But please fix this bug that turns so many images sideways. Some of these sites like facebook dont have any way to fix that.
Exactly what I was looking for in an upload app
braditunes 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app is amazingly powerful. I only use it for Blogger, Flickr and Facebook but I see a TON of other places you can upload too. I love the one upload for multiple places feature. When uploading to Flickr and Blogger I get a tag that says via-pixelpipe that I can't get rid of but other than that, I can't see anything wrong yet. I tested this app out a good bit and I really love it. Take a few pictures on your iPhone, open up Pixelpipe, (after you have created your account and set up your destinations) touch the upload all button or select individual pictures, sit back and watch the pictures upload at blazing speed (over wifi). Thanks so much for making an app for EXACTLY what I needed. This is the first program I found that I can upload my full quality pictures without stripping out all the EXIF data (I was concerned about location info) and really use the power of the iPhone 3G with the built in GPS.
Batch uploads...finally!!!
Robohymns 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Brilliantly uploads batches to the photo service of your choice (in my case, picasa). Works perfectly, and the queue feature is great. I don't understand the low ratings at all...
Best Flickr uploader yet
Joshua Rudd 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've tried several other Flickr uploaded apps and all of them leave me looking for something better. Well, this one seems to be it! (Plus you can upload to several other services, too.) They should categorize it under Photography.
Excellent
tpressman 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Allows batch uploading! Easy, fast setup. Would be nice to be able to create albums/sets targets. Otherwise perfect.
Excellent
CDChapman 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is an outstanding application! The shear volume of website picture uploads this application supports make it the leader of the pack. Although I've given it 5 stars it does have one glaring omission and that's the inability to upload from the photo gallery. Uploading from the camera role is obviously the prefered default, but I have 10 times as many images in the photo gallery from friends, family and associates. Hopefully the next update will add support for uploading from the photo gallery. If you're a volume picture taker you need this application.
Greatest app ever? Quite possibly.
Namanert 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I absolutely love this app. It's so easy to use, you just go into the app, choose the picture(s) you want to upload, choose where to upload them, and presto, you're done. One of my favorite features is (at least for Blogger) being able to choose whether you want your pictures to upload immediately, or wait 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 3 hours or a full day, just in case you have more than one picture, it can group them all together into one blog post. This is definitely one of my favorite apps.
Sasha Pave
Sashapave 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Really handy for uploading photos to multiple accounts. I have my tumblr, wordpress and facebook accounts linked up. The app saves me a few steps from uploading via email (the old way to do it on pixelpipe) plus you can add keywords all at once before uploading (handy if you're out in the field and away from wifi). The iPhone is the first phone I've had with a workable camera, and this almost makes it too easy to share photos. I only wish the phone supported video.
A good app!
Chikna 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
very satisfied, lets me choose whenever to upload or not unlike many other photo sending apps.
