Mini_discussion_bubble ReadWriteWeb - Posted Sun, 08 Jan 2012 18:00:00 UTC +00:00
2011 was a great year for apps. Both the Android Market and the Apple App Store grew exponentially and users now have so many choices that it is hard to sort all of them out. December was an especially big months for apps as publishers revved up for consumers to unwrap new devices during the holiday season. Christmas is the biggest app-downloading day of the year for many publishers. From empirical observations, publishers started ramping up a few days before the holiday with Dec. 22 one of the biggest days of the year fo the App Store, with literally thousands of apps published. What was new and exciting in the last month of 2011? Check out our selections below. After several months of putting app updates in the column, we have noticed a trend: about a third of your apps will be issued updates on any given month. See the popular Read More

Numbers on the iPhone: A quick look
Mini_discussion_bubble TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog - Posted Thu, 09 Jun 2011 22:00:00 UTC +00:00
Apple has yet to come out with a new version of iWork for the Mac, but it's been hard at work on the iOS edition of the productivity suite. The recent release of iWork on the iPhone and iPod touch included all three members of the iWork family in a diminutive format -- Keynote for presentations, Pages for word processing and page layout and Numbers for creating and updating spreadsheets and charts. I took a quick look at Numbers (US$9.99, universal app) on the iPhone just to see how well (or poorly) the app translated to the smaller screen format, and the results of my inspection are included in this short overview of the app. A gallery of screenshots is just below. I've been using spreadsheets on mobile devices since the Apple Newton MessagePad first came out in 1993, and for the most part, they've all suffered from the same issue. Read More
Office App Showdown: Round Three: Presentations
Mini_discussion_bubble Mac|Life - Posted Wed, 23 Feb 2011 14:21:38 UTC +00:00
Posted 02/23/2011 at 6:21am | by J Keirn-Swanson We've seen what Apple could dish up when it came to word processing, and we've seen the competitors bring occasionally impressive functionality to this realm.  We've even seen word processing on the iPhone, which, while not glamorous or particularly easy, is still nice. Spreadsheets were likewise a solid contender for data crunching even if there were some major shortcomings in the apps which sought to dethrone Numbers from its rightful place. The third and final installment is at last at hand. Presentations, the scourge of corporate meetings.   It's almost as if DocsToGo realized the near impossibility of its task -- how to create a universal app that also manages flexibility and creativity -- threw up their hands and gave up. Sure, you can open PowerPoint files, save them, share them, etc., but creation? Creation is an ugly process that gives no pleasure Read More
Office App Showdown: Round One: Word Processing
Mini_discussion_bubble Mac|Life - Posted Wed, 09 Feb 2011 14:42:33 UTC +00:00
Posted 02/09/2011 at 6:42am | by J Keirn-Swanson Back when it was just the iPhone, there wasn't  much demand for mobile word processing, but when the iPad came along, people expected full computer functionality. Apple heeded the call with mobile versions of iWork, but Microsoft Office still remains king of document software. The popular .doc is still the number one format with a bullet, and a variety of office-based software has arisen to handle it. In our special cage-match office productivity App Showdown, we'll go three rounds to find out who is the undisputed master of the mobile domain, Apple or its competitors.     Documents to Go Premium ($16.99, universal)One of the bigger players in the market, Documents to Go by DataViz, Inc., brings word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations under one umbrella. Plus, the app developers rock it out as a universal, so even iPhone users can hook themselves up. Read More

Dropbox gets a mobile API and a trio of apps | Web Crawler - CNET News
Mini_discussion_bubble Technology News - CNET News - Posted Wed, 05 May 2010 00:00:00 UTC +00:00
Dropbox is getting more serious about its efforts to bring its cloud storage solution to mobile devices. On Tuesday the company is announcing a mobile API for developers to build ties to Dropbox's servers into their own apps, as well as formally launching first-party applications for the iPad and Android and BlackBerry devices. The new mobile API is something Dropbox is calling "Dropbox Anywhere." The company has worked with a number of developers to integrate their apps into the new data pipeline. These include Fuze's FuzeMeeting app, Dictamus, Air Sharing, GoodReader, QuickOffice and Sprite Mobile's backup tool. All of these apps are able to tap into a user's Dropbox storage to fetch data, and save it back without needing to use any of that device's local data. Now any developer will be able to do the same with their own mobile software. Competitor Box.net rolled out something very similar back in Read More

How Much Will You Pay for iPad Apps?
Mini_discussion_bubble The iPhone Blog - Posted Fri, 26 Mar 2010 14:48:26 UTC +00:00
By Rene Ritchie, Friday, Mar 26, 2010 | How much will you pay for iPad apps? Steve Jobs said the iPad was a new category between the iPhone and the laptop, so will iPad software be a new category between the two as well? PC software for Windows or Mac can range from free to well over a thousand dollars for a suite — looking at you Adobe CS5 — or more. iPhone apps on the other hand have raced to the bottom, with free being common and cheap being the biggest alternative. Most apps hover around $0.99. Only a few apps dare go over $5, let along $10 or more. Apple might have given us some indication with the pricing they announced for their iWork productivity apps for iPad. On the Mac, iWork is bundled at $79 for a single license and $99 for a 5 license family pack [Apple Read More

Macworld 2010: Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite demonstration
Mini_discussion_bubble TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog - Posted Sat, 13 Feb 2010 20:54:00 UTC +00:00
If you've ever had a need to create or edit Microsoft Office documents on your iPhone or any other mobile device, you're probably familiar with Quickoffice. It's a solid app that provides a way to transfer documents to your iPhone, open them, make changes, and then save them back to the device. At Macworld 2010, Quickoffice announced some changes to their iPhone product line. The app now comes in two flavors -- Quickoffice Connect [Free, iTunes Link], which is a document viewer, and the full Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite [US$9.99 sale price]. Both apps now have a feature that should make almost everyone happy -- integrated access to multiple cloud services including MobileMe, Dropbox, Box.net, and Google Docs. TUAW editor Steve Sande visited the Quickoffice booth at Macworld Expo 2010 yesterday and was treated to a full demo of the the Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite. We've got video, so see how Read More
Quickoffice Updated With Google Docs Support
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhoneFreak - Posted Thu, 11 Feb 2010 13:52:29 UTC +00:00
Quickoffice, the popular office application suite, has been updated this week to include some much needed cloud-based functionality.  New users will want to seek out Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite inside the App Store, where version 3.0 comes with Dropbox, Box.net, MobileMe and Google Docs integration. Documents stored online can now be accessed and edited, then shared within the service or emailed to someone else, plus you can create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel files as before too.  All this needs to be done over Wi-Fi and the app happily supports multiple online accounts.  As was the case with the initial run of Quickoffice products in the App Store, Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite is being offered for $9.99 instead of the normal $19.99 for a limited time. Just to confuse the issue, the original Quickoffice – i.e. without the cloud-based services – still exists and is now known as Quickoffice Mobile Read More

Quickoffice Adds DropBox, Google Docs support
Mini_discussion_bubble TheAppleBlog - Posted Wed, 10 Feb 2010 19:52:13 UTC +00:00
I’ve written about my love affair with Quickoffice before, but there’s always been one issues I’ve had with it: the only cloud storage service it supported was MobileMe’s iDisk. I’ve come close to plunking down the money for MobileMe a few times, but because Dropbox works for me, I’ve been hesitant. Quickoffice just announced its new iPhone app Quickoffice Connect which now lets you access and edit files on Box.net, Dropbox, Google Docs and Apple MobileMe. It’s available for an introductory price of $9.99, but it showed as a free upgrade for my existing Quickoffice application. In my very brief testing, it has worked as advertised. I was able to connect to my Dropbox account, browse all the files and open a Word doc and edit it. The usual disclaimers apply: the formatting is still rough (the document I tested with has extensive formatting and fonts not available on the iPhone, Read More
QuickOffice, Box.net Updated — Now Play Great Together

QuickOffice 3.0 [$9.99 - iTunes link] lets you access documents stored on Box.net, as well as other cloud-based repositories like MobileMe, Google Docs, and Dropbox. It’s also a free update for existing users. Box.net has [Free - iTunes link] also released a new version that includes collaborative comments, the QuickOffice integration mentioned above, and new API’s for developers to connect up search, commenting, and activity tracking in other apps as well. Requires a Box.net account, but you can get 1GB free online. If you try out either, or both, let us know what you think! Read More

Business Uses for the iPad
Mini_discussion_bubble TheAppleBlog - Posted Mon, 01 Feb 2010 19:30:32 UTC +00:00
I put myself squarely in the “Working Mac User” category. My MacBook sees daily use in an Enterprise. I freelance write about the Mac and use mine in school. Outside of web surfing and the occasional game, very little of my time at the keyboard is leisure time. So, when I viewed the live blogs of the iPad event, my thoughts drifted to “How can us this for work?” Rather than deal with hypotheticals, I’ll go into some ways I could use an iPad. I used to cover E3, the gaming industry’s excuse for middle-aged men to ogle booth babes. I’d have to drag my laptop, a camera, notebooks, and whatever crap got handed to me by PR folks. For each appointment my editor sent me to, I was expected to write an article about what I saw. In that situation, when contemplating how much something weighs against its power, weight Read More

Need A Cheap Mobile Office Suite? Quickoffice And Documents To Go Are On Sale
Mini_discussion_bubble Apple iPhone Apps - Posted Sat, 28 Nov 2009 15:38:08 UTC +00:00
Black Friday may be officially over, but many of those great deals have spilled over into the weekend, including sales on two of the most popular iPhone and iPod touch mobile Office suites. Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite was one of the first mobile document creation and editing apps to hit the App Store.  The app allows you to create, open, and edit Word and Excel files, transfer desktop files via Wi-Fi, remotely access MobileMe, email files, and even mount your device as a drive.  Quickoffice Mobile Suite was priced at $9.99, but it is now available for its lowest price ever of $6.99 until Monday, November 30th. Documents To Go came along a little later than Quickoffice, but that extra time away apparently didn’t hurt it any as it was voted as our AppAwards “Best Document Creation App” back in July.  The app features the ability to create, open and edit Word Read More

Documents To Go Finally Allows You To Create And Edit Excel Spreadsheets
Mini_discussion_bubble Apple iPhone Apps - Posted Thu, 01 Oct 2009 15:26:04 UTC +00:00
Documents To Go was voted as our AppAwards “Best Document Creation App” back in July, and at that time it certainly was one of if not the best of its kind for the iPhone and iPod touch.  However, over the last couple of months, Quickoffice had gained some momentum by offering the ability to create, open, and edit Microsoft Excel spreadsheet files.  Dataviz finally decided enough was enough and pushed an update to Documents To Go out that adds these same abilities to their document creation app in an attempt to reclaim its throne. Documents To Go already featured the ability to create, edit, and view Microsoft Word files, and view Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe PDF, and Apple iWork files.  It even allowed you to keep your files in sync with a free companion application that works on both Macs and PCs via Wi-Fi.  The biggest piece of the puzzle left out, Read More

Here Are More Apps for That: Three New iPhone Commercials From Apple
Mini_discussion_bubble TheAppleBlog - Posted Tue, 22 Sep 2009 14:51:11 UTC +00:00
It’s fall premiere season, and that means new shows. But it also means sparkly new ads to fill all those commercial breaks. New Apple ads for the iPhone provided pleasant relief for me yesterday from the tedium of the two-hour Heroes premiere. On a side note, the Castle premiere was pretty good. But back to those commercials. All three highlight popular and unique iPhone apps, some of which have already been featured in previous commercials. Let’s take a look at the apps featured in each commercial. The first ad is called Dine and features a smattering of apps covering a range of different topics, including travel, dining, working and shopping. Here’s a breakdown of the apps featured. TripCase (Free) — Flight tracking, info and travel itinerary management app. Quite a few not so great reviews on this one, but it is free. Three new iPhone ads make their debut on prime-time television

Were you watching the two-hour season premiere of House last night on Fox? Maybe you were watching one of the other prime-time shows, but if you had your eyes on the screen during some of the commercial breaks, you probably saw at least one of the three new iPhone ads that hit the airwaves last night. Each of the new ads highlights a total of six apps, up from the three that were formerly the focus of the older ads. The first ad I saw last night, "Dine," looks at Zagat to Go, QuickOffice, TripCase, New York Subway 09, Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List, and Gap Style Mixer. O que chama a atenção nessas novas peças publicitárias é a mudança de mote, que mudou o clássico “There’s an App for That” (Tem um Aplicativo para Isso) para “O iPhone possui todo o tipo de aplicativos“. # Dine O primeiro se chama e mostra que há aplicativos que ajudam você a pegar avião (Trip Case – grátis), a pegar trem (New York Subway ‘09 – 4,99$), a fazer um jantar (Epicurious Recipes – grátis) ou então escolher um lugar para jantar fora (Zagat to Go ‘09 – 9,99$). Box.net Brings Cloud Storage to iPhone Apps
Mini_discussion_bubble Mashable - Posted Thu, 10 Sep 2009 15:59:05 UTC +00:00
by iPhone applications are becoming increasingly common — and convenient — ways for users to access their documents, photos and web services. The only real problem is that because the iPhone lacks a distinctly user-controllable file management system, accessing your existing documents from within those applications is often difficult, if not impossible. Storage and collaboration service Box.net has just launched its OpenBox Mobile API, which offers developers the ability to integrate the Box.net platform into their apps. What this means is that users will have the ability to access their content stored on Box.net within their favorite iPhone applications. So if you use the Quickoffice [iTunes link] application, you can access your documents stored on Box.net, make edits and then e-mail the new copy. The new API is free for developers — just sign up for a Box.net and then join the developers program. The iPhone is the first platform being Read More
Quickoffice v1.4 Gives Word And Excel Files Some Love
Mini_discussion_bubble Apple iPhone Apps - Posted Fri, 04 Sep 2009 15:23:27 UTC +00:00
Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite is a solid document creation and editing app for those of you who travel a lot for business purposes or need a quick fix for your school assignments.  It recently received an update that adds the ability to create, open, and edit Microsoft Word and Excel 2007 files, which should make it your go-to business app. Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite consists of three different apps that can be purchased separately, but together they make the ultimate app.  It allows you to edit Word and Excel documents, transfer desktop files via Wi-Fi, remotely access MobileMe, email files, and even mount your device as a drive. Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite is priced relatively high for an iPhone app at $14.99, which is technically its sale price, but it offers so many features that it’s tough to even compare.  Its direct competitor, Documents To Go, is priced at $9.99 and Read More

Why Small Business Owners Need a Mac
Mini_discussion_bubble TheAppleBlog - Posted Wed, 19 Aug 2009 20:00:14 UTC +00:00
Small business owners have it hard, especially in the current world economic climate. They have lots to do, not enough resources, staff, and time to get it done. For many small business owners, computers are only one more thing to worry about. It doesn’t have to be that way. For the past few months, I’ve been in the process of moving from one side of the country to the other. Now that my family and I are settling into our new location, I thought I would share some stories of small business owner encounters I’ve had during my travels. From the end of April to the middle of July, I crossed the country twice by car, and three times flying. Each time, I was reminded of why a Mac is a great small business machine. During my travels, I met people from all over. Being a tech guy, I would immediately Read More
Academic Appeal: Five Apps for the iPhone-toting Student
Mini_discussion_bubble TheAppleBlog - Posted Thu, 13 Aug 2009 21:00:02 UTC +00:00
With the academic year about to begin, and having already tackled the important issues of iWork vs. Office, it’s time to turn our attentions to the iPhone. With over 65,000 apps on the App Store, even subtracting all the iFart and iTip applications there are five I feel are indispensable for any college student’s life. These apps range from the practical to the whimsy — all school and no play makes for a grumpy Crumpy. Evernote has quickly become the dumping ground for any information I come across on the Internet. I don’t even bother bookmarking anything anymore; I just clip it into Evernote. It’s very useful when I’m researching a paper — I’ll just tag an entry with the name of the paper, or create a notebook just for that class. Since Evernote keeps the URL for all clipped pieces, it’s very convenient when I go back to cite the Read More

05.06.09        App Score: 9/10    , from Quickoffice, is an overhaul of its versatile Quickoffice Mobile Pro, an app that combined Excel editing and file transfer functions. The big news here is Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite now features the ability to view, create and edit Word documents. MobileFiles Pro is no more and in its stead are: Quickoffice Files, which allows users to access their iDisk accounts, email files directly from the app or transfer via Wi-Fi. Quicksheet has identical features with the addition of an Excel spreadsheet editor. You can read the review of Quickoffice MobileFiles Pro, so I’ll give you a quick rundown on the Word side of things. Quickoffice, in emails and press releases, refers to the new app as Quickoffice for iPhone, but the app is named Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite, so I’ll use that until I find out which is correct. Quick Office is a Mobile Office Suite for the iPhone. It has the functionality of three different applications in one and is by far the most developed and well thought out application of its kind for the iPhone. The app allows users to experience enterprise-grade Microsoft® Word and Excel® Office functionality with unparalleled ease-of-use. With QuickWord, users can edit Microsoft Word files with all the standard functions of a word processor. Fonts can be changed and manipulated, bullet points can be added, and even the almighty copy and paste is available. QuickOffice supports pinch zooming and dynamically reformats the text as you zoom. Cursor placement is handled by zooming the entire screen instead of giving a magnifying glass which I found to be extremely handy. There is also Quicksheet. Quicksheet allows users to edit spreadsheets right from their iPhone or iPod Touch. Calculations are made just like Excel and all the Read More

QuickOffice Word and Excel now available for the iPhone
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhones Talk - Posted Tue, 21 Apr 2009 18:05:19 UTC +00:00
If you are interested in an app for the iPhone/Touch that can edit both Microsoft Word and Excel documents along with file sharing and content management capabilities, Quickoffice is now available via the App Store for $20. This is basically an abridged version of Office for the iPhone, which could useful for a variety of applications: editing documents, typing out new ones, and doing Excel sheets without dragging open a laptop. Will include copy/paste functionality too. Great for on the go presentations. Comments on various forums think the price is too high, but hey, people were clamoring for this functionality months ago, so compared to the full on version of Office, $20 is a bargain, it seems. But the bar seems to have been set rather low for App Store pricing it seems, and many have said they’d rather piece together various free apps to do this sort of work. To Read More

Quickoffice: Finally, Word Document Editing Comes to Your iPhone
Mini_discussion_bubble TheAppleBlog - Posted Tue, 21 Apr 2009 18:00:34 UTC +00:00
I’ve been waiting for the ability to edit Word documents on the iPhone since the day I got one. Why? Because I’m a dreamer, and my dream is someday not having to lug around a laptop of any size while I’m traveling, or just out and about in the city. My iPhone has become a big part of that dream, and the ability to edit any kind of document using it is another. The release of Quickoffice ($19.99, iTunes link) marks a big first for those editing capabilities, with full support for .doc files. Now, Word support doesn’t mean as much to me as it once did, since I work primarily online these days, but it’s still great to have, and helpful for my own personal fiction writing. Thanks to Quickoffice, I can now edit stories and start new ones on the go, without having to first convert them to .txt Read More

I am so glad I won this app at MacWorld! I don't use MS Office much, other than Excel, so I probably never would have discovered this app, let alone bought it, otherwise. But being able to not only read but edit --and even create-- Excel compatible spreadsheets on my iPhone is fantastic. If I hadn't already won it, I would buy this app for that alone. Being able to view, create & edit Word and now PowerPoint files is just an added bonus.
Improved greatly

I almost wrote this app off but this update has brought me back. It has been greatly improved. Thanks devs. Please add the ability to collapse/hide rows in spreadsheet and it would be better.

This is a great app! While I may not use it every day, I definitely use it more than I thought I ever would! It has more functionality than I usually use on my desktop! I especially like using the xls app to make calculations when I'm buying things at the store. I also LOVE the Dropbox functionality! I don't even have to think about syncing to the computer or anything!
Awesome!!

Wait a minute, now 'I can create and edit PowerPoint files on my iphone? Too cool!! Checking it out last night, I created a short PowerPoint for my girlfriend and was amazed at how easy and quick it was to create a presentation with quality results. I was able to then give my presentation to her using my phone and then email her the .ppt file for her records. This all took me about 15 minutes to do. Meanwhile I was considering the idea that I really have no need for my computer anymore. I highly recomend QuickOffice Pro 4.0.0 to anyone using office files on the go. And it just keeps getting better with each update!(*Previous review)... As a student I find this app to be a great tool for on the go editing and last minute revisions of my papers then email to myself for reprint while in the classroom. I can easily access my google docs or can just use the file transfer via wifi to store files on my iphone. Good looking app with tons of functionality. I dig the fact that I can review my .pptx files just before a presentation too. Love it Love it Love it!!!
Great app! Allows me to work w/ my Google/Dropbox files on my iphone.
michael stewart 5.0 stars Version: 4.0.1
I organize most of my files within Dropbox and share some docs with friends and family on Google. Quickoffice allows me to edit these files wherever I am keep all my locations in sync. I can easily open an attachment from email, make edits, save it locally on my iphone or in my dropbox, and email it back. When I graduated law school and was looking for a job, I kept a .pdf of my resume in my dropbox. Using quickoffice I was able to easily email my resume to open jobs the minute I heard. Sometimes when I was at recruiting events, I would meet someone and was able to send them my resume right then and there. Very convenient!
Just what I needed.
jadams159 5.0 stars Version: 3.0.0
Let me start by saying this is the first (and probably only) app I have ever paid for. I started looking for apps to modify an excel spreadsheet on the fly. And this app is perfect for me. I am a dropbox user (my favorite app ever, and free), and this interacts perfectly with dropbox. I can access the spreadsheet, edit it and save it on the fly; and while doing it over the air rather than wifi is a little slower, it still meets my expectations. This app, in conjunction with dropbox has solidified my opinion that I will never need a Windows mobile or Blackberry device ever again. To put things into prespective, I'm a Network Administrator, and a heavy Windows user. In other words: Uber Geek.
Works exactly as it says it does
johnnyp73 4.0 stars Version: 1.5.3
Is this app perfect? No. Does this app offer the same user experience as your desk top with a 27 inch screen? Well duh, No. This app DOES let you import word and excel files via email anywhere you are, edit and email it yourself from your iPhones pop or imap account and set up a file system within the app ( to email attachment it must be in root folder though). It DOES let you create word or excel files no matter where you are with a very well thought out tool system including editing the boarders of cells in excel. Excel editing is really nice interface when using landscape mode. I can think of a few things that can be improved on but I'm giving 5 stars because quickoffice really let's me work in places I need to be and not at my desk
Spreadsheet app needs to be able to freeze top rows
uoldgoat 3.0 stars Version: 1.5.3
I bought this app primarily to be able to be able to make minor updates to some spreadsheets (as there are free apps that are okay at letting you view them). Although I am still in the "evaluation" phase of this product (so the 3 star rating is subject to change) one thing I notice that is missing is the ability to use the "freeze pane" settings I had for the spreadsheet in Excel (this is used to allow you to always see the first row or two if you have the column headers on them). I also have yet to find a way to do this in the app. This is a disappointment for me since if you're on line 100+ in a spreadsheet that has many adjacent numeric columns, it is very tedious to scroll all the way to the top to see which column "D" represents each time. Since screen real estate is a precious commodity on th iPhone, you would think that this is extemely valuable functionality that this product would want to have.
Disappointed
The Nok 1.0 stars Version: 3.0.0
(Original) Cannot add body to emails, does not save edited work all time, can't open or read email attachments. Get error message in emails. This app needs alot of work to fix these issues. Don't spend your money on this app yet. (This was fixed). 2/10/2010-after this upgrade, I get the error message, "must activate my email account" every time I open this app. This is so annoying, please fix it. For the price, this app should be flawless. I paid for it before the price reduction.
Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite
Bro C 3.0 stars Version: 1.5.3
I found the software to be frustrating at best. I use 2 meg and larger Excel files all the time and Quickoffice can not seem to load that size files. I have been using the software for about 3 months now and am about to give up hope. Every one seems to want to blame something out of their control, like the viewer in Iphone etc. That is a cop out in my opinion. I was a programmer for 15 years and know a little about what should be done. If you are using 500k or smaller files, you will most likely be happy with the product.
Change of heart with requirement to have account with them
changeopinion 2.0 stars Version: 3.0.0
I originally got this application when it was new, based on my experience with their Palm application. I've stopped using it and I will look for a substitute because they now require me to open an account with them to access my MobileMe files.
disappointing
RustyIron.com 3.0 stars Version: 3.0.1
I use this app daily, but am disappointed with the new version. There is a serious flaw that has existed in the previous two versions, which has still not been resolved. If multiple cells are selected in the spreadsheet, and the file is saved, data will be deleted in the saved file. The publisher has long known of this flaw, but has refused to address the issue.
Hold Up!!!
NinjaWinslow 3.0 stars Version: 3.0.0
This app used to be great until this new update. Now they force you to create a QuickOffice Connect Account before you can access you iDisk. This lame that they took away direct access to MobileMe! Just so they can collect a database of users. Why do great apps have to be handicapped by corporate greed!!! At least they updated their icon too look better, but that is about it.
Used to be good
TheFourEyedJack 2.0 stars Version: 3.0.0
I've been a user of this app for a while, and I don't like the recent addition of a "sign-in" either. Why should I have to create an account for them to use? Docs to Go manages the same job without an account and MobileMe access especially shouldn't require an extra account (with a password that I won't remember). I tried to contact QuickOffice to complain, but you need an account to enter their Feedback Department! Looks like I won't be using this app much - I'll go to the competitor.
Why must I sign up?
StevieD' 2.0 stars Version: 3.0.0
Functionality is OK for the price but I'm amazed that I was required to create an account with the vendor before I could create a box.net or MobileMe account. Why?
Why???
Nibifeuondy6;:)6; 1.0 stars Version: 3.0.0
Why is it that I write a one star review and it does not show up? Who is controlling the rewiews? I want it clearly stated that I have used this product. For months I have been able to access my iDisk, now I am forced to give my email and open a QuickOffice account to access. That just not right. I have security issues with that gateway. And now not posting my review.! Hmmmm... Where are the good reviews coming from. Make me wonder.
Great Support! They are on it.

I contacted Quickoffice last night. This morning I received their reply:
Easy and Useful Product
Thing5 5.0 stars Version: 1.5.1
I am absolutely thrilled with the Quickoffice Mobile Suite. Easily a five star App due to: - Ease of use - Versatility; of course we always want more, but this App has as much or more than any other App, and with parallel desktop software that I *love* - Customer service is absolutely amazing! - Newest updates giving us editing of 2007 DOCX + XLSX files, and underlining; Thank you! For a future improvement, I would have to agree with other reviewers that a different format for opening email attachments is a biggie. There is just no way I can send them to someone else for handling.
Still useless
FUBARinDetroit 1.0 stars Version: 1.5.1
I still can't email attachments from my iPhone. The file I send appears blank. I feel ripped off. I contacted support and they were useless. I am very unhappy with Quick Office. I did delete the app and reinstall the newest version. If they could fix the email problem I would be happy.
Just ruined my research doc
Stevo773629 2.0 stars Version: 1.5.1
I have trusted quick office up until this last update... While editing a paper everthing was going well. So then I decided to save and email it to myself... Now the doc will not open at all. This must be fixed, or the reputation this software has will go out the window like my edits did!

Cr3ate 1.0 stars Version: 1.5.3
Too many buggy releases and convoluted customer support system (what happened to simply letting a client send an email???) New version does seem stable though so cautiously optimistic. They once deleted my review for being critical of their support so while I would up my rating, they will never get more than 1 star from me.
Awful - DO NOT BUY
tsoglani 1.0 stars Version: 1.5.1
These guys are selling $9.99 worth of bugs. It is terrible. Nothing works. It is not reliable. I copied a bunch of files before my trip and they were all empty.
What is with these Office-like programs?
Poor Program 1.0 stars Version: 1.5.3
This is the 4th program I have paid for to try to veiw "Office files" on my iTouch. Every one of them are the same. THEY DON'T WORK! With this program like others, every thing looks good to use Wi-Fi, but no luck. File transfers do not occur. With this progam, like others, I was able to connect using a browser and an IP address and transfer 1 file. Now all I get is Internet Explorer, Safari, and Firefox cannot find the webpage. I have spent $80.00 on these programs to no avail. I guess I am an idiot. Version 1.5.1 I finally got to the point where I could get files onto my iTouch. Only problem is, if the file is over 500K the program cannot load it. It's too big a file??? That is not even a big file!! I guess this app is only good for note taking. Not much use overall. Still no help from support??? Worthless program!
Don't waste your money!
tmot99 1.0 stars Version: 1.5.1
I read in multiple reviews on iTunes and other locations that this was THE best program. This is not the case. After uploading my files, to my iPhone, I edited them (a 1 page Word doc) and emailed it. The email came through as a blank document. The program also crashed when trying to view a pdf file. These are two reasons I bought this program and neither one is working.
Basic But Should Work For Most Users
D. Dell 1.0 stars Version: 1.4.2
I was going to wait for Dataviz Documents To Go, but decided to try QuickOffice for now. This seems to be a fairly good, albeit basic, app. Of course I doubt if most users would want to do any lengthy and complicated spreadsheet creations and editing anyway. For basic editing of documents and spreadsheets, this app works okay. However, it does have pleanty of editing features to suit most users. Although, one thing puzzles me on why my graphs don’t show up in my spreadsheet when on QuickSheets on the iPhone. I emailed the dev and was told they would add that to their list of suggested features to add. So, deduct 1 star for that. Another complaint I have is there is no way to print. However, I can get around that because I just email myself a file then use Print and Share app to print the file. So, I have to deduct another star for no printing and basic editing. There are 3 different ways to copy, update or transfer files. I prefer the Map Network Drive method because you can drag and drop files to copy or update existing files and you can do it in either direction. For example you can create or simply update a file on your iPhone then drag the file into a folder on your PC where the original file is located. It will be overwritten and thus updated. This works in the other direction also from your PC to iPhone. Of course, for the novice PC user Map Network Drive may be too difficult to setup. For those users I suggest you research how to do it because it’s the easiest and fastest way to move files. Actually I like Docs To Go much better for syncing. It's much faster and easier than this app. I have a suggestion to keep your files organized. I created a folder on my desktop with all the Word and Excel files that I keep on both the PC and iPhone in QucikOffice. Then whenever I make changes to any of the files on my PC they are all in one place. Then I simply drag and drop to the iPhone to keep those files updated. And of course, I can do it the other way around if I make changes in the iPhone with QuickOffice instead. For now I will use QuickOffice until Dataviz comes out with their Office Suite. Then I’ll compare them and keep the one that works best for me. Update: I have and been using DocsToGo for a while now. The 2 main advantages over Quick Office is the ease and speed to sync and DTG shows graphs in Excel. And they said there would be Excel editing in the next update. So with that update coming the clear winner will be Dataviz Documents To Go.
Decent program, deceptive marketing
IDtheTarget 3.0 stars Version: 1.3
I've found Quickoffice to be useful, but I was disappointed to find that the "editing email attachments" feature they promised is accomplished by forwarding your email to a special account at quickoffice. I work at a law enforcement agency, and there's no way in hell that I'm forwarding my emails through their site. Be aware that you cannot just open the attachment.
Best documents app available
Slip Jigs 5.0 stars Version: 1.3
Just installed the update and Wow! I was waiting to see how they would provide access to email attachments, and it is a very clean solution. I set up two email accounts quickly and it all worked great! Now I can create and edit and with print n share print documents. MobileMe integration is a bonus, but not s requirement. QuickOffice = Success!
Finally!!!!
Rodney T1 5.0 stars Version: 1.3
In my opinion, this version "1.3" has made this a rock solid mobile office solution. With the ability to access, save and edit office documents from our email attachments, I highly recommend this to all iPhone users in need of an office solution.
Email attachments
bsurgeon 5.0 stars Version: 1.3
This update which allows you to access email attachments makes quick office worth the price; and the best iPhone word processor. All it needs now is to add more editing features (track changes, more intuitive layout, more format options). Keep the updates coming quick office!
Currently the Best All-Around Office App!
JNHohol 5.0 stars Version: 1.3
QuickOffice provides the quickest, most dependable office document management on the iPhone!!! Send your email attachments quickly and watch the progress bar so you know that it's actually working. Forward your email attachments to Quickoffice for editing and re-sending, it works beautifully!!!
AWESOME UPDATE!!

FINALLY GOT WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR IN THIS APP!!!! My griping and crying is over! Now will update review from  To  Awesome app, but PLEASE ADD COPY/PAST. I never realized how often I would use that until 3.0 update. I will switch to 5 stars after that update.
Keeps getting better and better and better and better
dalyse 5.0 stars Version: 1.3
Fantastic job with the updates guys. Keep them coming. I was skeptical of this software's potential at first but each update suprises me and each new feature adds incredible functionality to the program. Although there are still some bugs to work out this application the absolute best and most functional is unmatched in functionality and ease of use. The last update added crucial support for downloading and editing email atatchments, making the iPhone truly usable a desktop replacement. I am very impressed, nice work everyone. Even though I still feel a little ripped off from the quickfiles/quicksheet switch, this app is worth every penny if you want to manipulate office documents on the iPhone That said, here is a list of things I would love to see in future (as timely as always) updates: 1. The ability to upload files from your computer that does NOT require and active Internet connection. That way, one can simply create a wireless network with one's laptop, and connect to it with the phone. We can always do this, even when we can't connect to the net. 2. A real, honest-to-god, after the fact spellchecker. Don't get me wrong, auto-correct is wonderful but obviously I'm a worse speller than you think. 3. Powerpoint, work on it. 4. Quickoffice ability to add notes to your document. 5. Quickoffice ability to track changes. 6. Quickoffice ability to view page breaks, so we can see how long our docs are. 7. Quickoffice ability to add and edit footnotes. 8. Quickoffice ability to adjust line spacing. 9. Ability to view iWork '09 docs. 10. View doc info button, number of pages, words, you get the idea. I think Docs to Go has this one.. Great work guys, please keep it up.
Better yet, but still not functional (for me)
Tyringrey 3.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
Great improvements in v. 1.2.0, including copy/paste for spreadsheet, landscape editing, auto-correct typing. Unfortunately, I still can't use any of it and have two way access to my files. You still can't open email attachments, or access other servers from the iPhone except MobileMe. I use google Docs, and I'm not shelling out $100 for MobileMe, when this is all I'd use it for. Alternatively, it would be nice to reverse the wifi file transfer, so that you could sit on the couch with your iPhone and access the files on your computer.
Nice Effort
mdb4403 4.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
I had been waiting for Docs2go and was dissapointed when it came out without the ability to create Excel documents or Email documents. As a result and based on the favorable reviews of the new release I went ahead and bought Quickoffice. I have to say I'm impressed. Im a lawyer and do alot of touchups of documents on the road or out of the office. This program works well. The ability to email docs is a must and I can't believe Docs2go omitted that from its initial release. Synching is also a breeze. I set up a folder on my desktop with my synch documents and every time I am at the office "presto" instant synching. Nice. Highly recommended app. As soon as they add support to edit and save email attachments I will be in heaven.- Or at least as close to heaven as any lawyer will get
Not as good as it sounds
musicianaa 4.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
Having switched from a palm piolot to an itouch I wanted to switch my documents to go files as well. This is the closest that I cam and was disapointed because it is not as good as documents to go. There are SEVERAL things that Documents cand do in excel that quickoffice can't do. Various formulas that quickoffice doesn't recognize and formatting that won't transfer over. Anyway, if you are looking for a replacement for documents to go, you will be disapointed, but if this is the first time use for you and you aren't familiar with documents to go, then this program will be agreat app
Impressive Feature Set
REHMV 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
Updated with 1.2.0 Attractive features and promised enhancements in future versions make this a good buy and a great first app to handle Word and Excel together on the iPhone, esp with 1.2.0 updates. Handling docx and xlsx formats (already promised) will add to this app in the future. Less major: strikethrough & more minor editing features would be a plus! I also hope iPhone OS 3.0 will allow more latitude for e-mail attachments from any source to be saved in Quickoffice, but this is currently a limit imposed by Apple, not Quickoffice.
Better!!
AZisTooHot 4.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
Cool app but not perfect! Keep pumping out the updates. Being able to edit email attachments would be HUGE!
Just in time for finals.
Wmpc 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
With the release of v1.2.0 I am able to finally type my notes, papers, and other correspondance the way I need to, quick and easy. Thanks Quick Office for updating this awesome app! I am very pleased with QuickOffice's application, as it works quite well for me. As a student I need the ability to work on assignments when I am away from my desktop, and I finally have the tools to do so. The only down side to the current version (and the reason this reviewer does not award 5 stars) is the lack of email support, double tap for period, and auto correction. Once this is added I will give it 5 stars. Otherwise this is a very good application. Also, I am in no way affiliated with QuickOffice, Inc. Don't forget to respring or reboot after installation to avoid problems as with any App Store app.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I think maybe they didn't read the help file. I have no trouble with the app at all, and I don't use MobileMe or iDisk and I was able to transfer files both via WiFi and Email, both to and from the app.
What is the problem?
Theorizer 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
I am a novice computer user who just switched to Macbook. I am a independent blue collar small business owner. I work in the construction, as well as service industry. I am basically a handyman. I had no problem with this application download. It went as well as my Airmouse app. I read all 122 reviews and was concerned at first, but I had a gift number from cc terminal so I figured why not. I downloaded it half asleep at 1:30 this am. By 2:00 I was moving docs and editing my excel bidsheet like a madman. I was able to email my edited spreadsheet with NO problem. I have concluded that the main problem with the reviews are the following: 1. The operator failed to read and UNDERSTAND the instructions. 2. The operator does not know how to make a coonection between peripherals and computer(it's tricky sometimes but if I can get it anyone can) 3. The operator expects a $150.00 program. This app is designed to supplement your main app. - Which it does! 4. Whiners. They are out there. Even in Apphoria. I would purchase this app again knowing what I know now. It simply works. End of story.
Quickoffice, Hands Down
Sally-May 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
Long time DV user on numerous Palm products back in the day. I could not wait for DV earlier this year (I bring documents with me on my job needing to make small edits depending on differnt customers) and bought Quickoffice before DV came out. When DV finally came out, I bought it and was taken aback. Not even close. I knew Quickoffice had a very good reputation and they are shipped on many other devices. Now I know why. Quickoffice wins, hands down. Why? Many reasons already listed by Reviewers of the DTG product:a) inability to open doc in existing email and send, b) UI not nearly as nice, c) their own cut and paste, d) no sync w/ MM, e) slow scrolling, f) no ability to upload/download docs, g) ackward desktop synch, h) keyboard lag...etc. Anyway, I don't want this to be a DataViz DTG bash, rather just a 'two thumbs up" for my new iPhone office suite of choice...Quickoffice! Great app, well done. Please deliver the proimised upgrades to Office 2007 and email...I have complete faith that you will as your 1.2 update was so much of a great update. Keep it coming!
Shocked
Tannerphillips 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
Waited forever for d2g. I have to be honest I tried your software way before this suite and wasn't impressed, however both thumbs up you rocked this I should have never waited. For all those waiting for d2g DONT bother this actually is very impressive. I have also heard d2g will require a desktop app to upload files. Wow that is stupid! Quickoffice is on the right track. So Much so I am now really regretting my riddle docs purchase. Anyway I don't review any app that's not worth it.... Quickoffice keep it up. Don't stop updating!!!!! Thanks
Much better
dalyse 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
Excellent work with 1.2 guys. Thank you for addressing so many of the issues mentioned in this review section. It makes us, the customers, feel like you care.
Needs more work...
Brandoson 2.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
The new update addressed nothing I have issues with. Still worthless to me. Would be worth the money if it actually formatted files like you save them on the computer. The one and only reason I bought this was to edit a VERY simple sales order form and email them. Although it completely ignores all formatting. Cells are crammed together cutting off text. Then when it's sent to the computer it looks nothing like the original layout. Would be a 5 star from me if it did the one thing I bought it for... They made Quicksheet with many functions but are missing the most basic thing! You can't select a cell, and delete it!!!! You kidding me? I have to manually use the backspace key to erase a cell. "professional" editing is a joke. Can't even handle merged cells. I hope they fix this, or I'll be taking them up with their gaurantee.

Great job bringing us Word and Excel support on the iPhone
Palmsolo 4.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
The folks at Quickoffice were the first out of the gate and while I found the first version good, there were some glaring issues that kept me from recommending it. They have now issued the free update to version 1.2 that is the product they should have launched with to avoid the negative feedback. This is an awesome application and if you need to create or edit Office files I recommend giving it a try. I still want to see support for email attachments, but they mention that is coming in a future update and I trust them to continue to deliver a high quality application.
Got tired of waiting on DataViz's DTG...
VAStateOfMind 4.0 stars Version: 1.2.0
Several folks here have already written comprehensive reviews of Quickoffice as of the 1.2.0 update - many of the glaring bugs/fixes from the previous version have indeed been addressed and some interface elements implemented. While there's always room for improvement (and the developers ARE promising more features soon), Qo 1.20 is an eminently usable AND useful mobile office suite. I'm successfully using it to edit term papers for my grad courses and have also used it to do some light editing of spreadsheets. I'm pleased with my investment in Qo 1.2.0 and I'm equally glad I did NOT wait any longer on DataViz's Documents To Go (promised in early-mid May and STILL not in the App Store)...
Finally!! MS Word Editing on Iphone!!

This app is really good I really don't understand why people say that you can't send a file in an email. The only bad thing is ylthat you don't have auto correct but those are things that are going to be upgreaded. People you should buy it beleve me it's a very nice app
Love it! But...
Smartguy16 4.0 stars Version: 1.1.1
I love this app. I can start my school essays on the bus and I don't have to reformat them at home. I just want 2 more things: download an application from an email, and, although not likely, a powerpoint viewer and editor. Still a really good app
Great app, issue with downloading email attachments

Anyone that would market a MOBILE document editing device that won't even open an email attachment and then email it back needs to MAKE THAT CLEAR in the marketing. If OTHERS think this is worth $TWENTY$ without this feature then they can download it KNOWING THIS RIGHT UP FRONT. As for me - never so disappointed in ANYTHING iPhone related - EVER. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

With Quickoffice you can read, create, and edit Word and Excel files on the iPhone, read numerous other file formats, move and email them, and even cut and paste within the application. It works portrait and landscape. Only major omission is auto-correct. Price may be high for an iPhone app, but low for what it offers and compared to same on other platforms.
Suggestions for Next Update
Golgiboy 4.0 stars Version: 1.1.1
Fantastic start, especially in V. 1.1.1 with e-mail local and remote. I would like to see double tap on space bar add a prior and space in Word in prep for a new sentence. That function works in Excel. If you could add spell check to Word, you would capture the market. Very good start on what promises to be a great business app.
Well Done!
Quickoffice User 5.0 stars Version: 1.1.1
What an update! Well done Quickoffice, well done. Email, drag and drop, very user friendly polished interface. I'm impressed! Five stars for sure. Well worth the money. All it needs is a Google Docs feature and I'd give it six stars if I could.
Nearly Perfect
C Jenkins 4.0 stars Version: 1.1.1
Works great, given the iPhone's user interface limitations and is very full-featured, but BEWARE: The spreadsheet app does not yet do cut/copy/paste! To move or duplicate a complex formula into another cell you must carefully retype it!
Better. Not quite though.
SteveinSC 3.0 stars Version: 1.1.1
(v. 1.1.1) The update makes it better. The email function is great. The shift key is fixed. There's a lot of good stuff in this app. But for the Doc editor to really be functional, it MUST implement the iPhone/iPod type correction functions. Word suggestions, auto correct, periods after double-space, auto-caps on first letter of new sentence, etc. And spell-checking. These are really necessary to make it a viable editor. Also, there needs to be a Tab feature somehow, or - even better - a paragraph formatting tab with at least a FEW options. And the bulleting option needs to be deeper. Types of bullets, numbered lists and outlines, etc. ALL of these features WILL be available on Documents to Go, due out by mid-to-late May. So, QuickOffice needs to release another major update before then if they want to be competitive. "We were first" won't cut it if your product is inferior.
Good for 1.0, could use improv.
MGOBLUE37 3.0 stars Version: 1.1.1
I like this app a lot for editing word/excel docs. on the go. It does need a couple of improvments, though. I would be nice if the shortcut for a period (double tap the spacebar) was enabled. With this bug fixed it could become a stellar app. Thanks for fixing thr shift key and adding drag 'n drop support for external server connectivity PowerPoint editing would be a great improvment that would complete this suite--Hint, hint, Quickoffice.

All In One Convenience But No Video Support
DB4IP 4.0 stars Version: 1.1.1
App works very well. However, the Quick Office viewer is unable to play video files. That omission is major. I need to use another app to do so and the QO viewer should be able to access and play any file that the standard iPhone app is able to access and play. Also, it would be very nice if you could optionally lock and hide and password protect a file or folder.

The new update makes this a 5 star app. More improvements I'm sure will come, but it's awesome with the update and now my laptop can take a break. I need my laptop less and less with all these great apps that keep coming out for the iPhone. Thanks for a great app!!!!
Great update, keep them comin
dalyse 4.0 stars Version: 1.1.1
The new interface is great, the caps key fix makes the document editor much more usable. The ability to mount as a drive is fantastic and very useful. I am still waiting, however, for: 1.the standard iPhone text input functions such as the auto caps on the first letter of a sentence and the double space bar to insert a period and a double space. 2. Then, of course, there's auto correct. Quickoffice needs to either enable the auto correct or better yet, add a simple spell check (many of the landscape email apps have it). Currently it is impossible to compose and send a professional document without first spell checking it on your computer. I really enjoy the Quickoffice interface and would like be able I stay with Quikoffice in May when Documents To Go comes out. However, to do this I need to see Quickoffice: 1. expand there list function to support the ability to choose the indentation level of each bullet, 2. add a tab key(!) 3.add the ability to view and create comments. Great and promising product, thanks for the speedy update, Quickoffice, keep them coming.
Email Doesn't Work

Great application
sladans 5.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
Very nice seamless product. As a professional who likes to travel without my laptop, I have been waiting for an Office Suite for the iPhone and this is THE application I have been looking for. Plenty of functionality and works like a charm. The fact that they also included a nice desktop sync/doc transfer tells me they are really thinking about a seamless user experience. Looking forward to the email files and ‘mount as wireless drive’ features to ship – hopefully soon. If you have been looking for an Office product – buy this one!

Praetorian829 4.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
This is a very good application. Sure it needs tweaking. So what. I am tired of the negative reviews from people who want the perfect app right out of the box. The bottom line is that it is the first app for the iPhone that allows one to work on MS Word/Excel Documents. As people use this program and publish their suggestions, the app will only get better.
the first one to the plate
Techmgr 3.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
I have been anxiously awaiting the release of an MS office companion to the iphone. Several months ago I signed up at the dataviz site to be notified as soon as docs2go was available. I knew that I would buy the first offering of an app that promised the ability to edit excel and word docs. Quickoffice beat dataviz to the release so they got my money. It is a first release and I hope that future versions allow office 2007 documents to be edited. The ability to email completed docs and save office docs that are emailed to me would be a great improvement as well. Even with its limitations I am sure i will get plenty of use out of this app.
Missing key features
Will2008 1.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
The software is missing key features such as ability to email supported files, store supported files received in email on device, MobileMe or on your computer drive. Also be useful to edit powerpoint and PDF files similar to word.
Excellent. Have used Quickoffice for 12 years. Word, Excel, Powerpoint in iPhone today!
mgauss 5.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
The reviewers here are completely missing the point. With this App one can move, read and edit Word Excel and Powerpoint files. If you tilt the iPhone you get landscape. You can pinch the font size. It is magical. I wonder when Office will be available. Well here is it today for $ 20 in 4 Megs. Amazing. It feels like magic when the files move from the iMac to the iPhone. Sure there is a lot of work to do...I mean Microsoft charges $ 400 for Office. Now you can carry important files in your iPhone and edit them. No spelling correction? Please. You can do that later! The only change I would do is change the price to $ 95. They are giving it away and it makes us not appreciate it.
It's worth it.
Raestep 4.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
Ok everyone knows that soon you will be able to email directly from this program. I love the way the way this program flows. Spell check is a must though, please please please add spell check as a function. This is the best "office" program offered for the iPhone. It's worth the $20. Add those few changes and it will be better than the blackberry office program!!!!
Lookink forward to 2.0.
Druce 2.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
I have been a QuickOffice fan since my Treo, so it pains me to write a bad review. The Treo version seemed far more capable of handling complex documents. This version either rejects the file or badly renders it. I have been pining away for this app for months, but now i just wish they had worked on it a few months longer. Hope 2.0 isn't far off.
Perfect for using with an iphone

This is just what I was looking for. I like that it is a simple program without a lot of complexity. It has just the right features to be used with an iphone. Anything more would just slow things down and make it too complex for working with an small device like the iphone. The access to my mobile me idisc is icing on the cake.
No Good

DO NOT BUY THIS COMPANY'S SOFTWARE. Read the reviews for their former MobileFiles Pro (now "quicksheet"). They are one of the most unethical companies I have ever dealt with. They promised this upgrade to all early adopters and then changed the app to a less than "Pro" version and released this new one at a ridiculous price point. Buyer Beware. I would much rather say positive things but I really don't want potential buyers to be bit the way all of us early adopters were. Written by a forum member on macrumors.
Good for 1.0, could use improv.
Damooster42 3.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
I like this app slot for editing word/excel docs. on the go. It does need a couple of improvments, though. I would be nice if the shortcut for a period (double tap the spacebar was enabled, and the shift key acts like a caps lock key even when you only tap it once. With these big fixed it could become a stellar app. Powerpoint editing would be a great improvment that would complete this suite--Hint, hint, Quickoffice.

Cool app but not perfect! If I read one more review of crying foul I'm going to scream! I understand why the whining but this is obviously the first ms word .doc app and to me that's a pretty big deal. Yes the app is not perfeced on the initial launch but i have yet to see an app that is! This is pretty darn cool for the initial release; however, I have high expectaions for the coming updates... There better be one within two weeks! If you have mobile me it's that much better! I obviously didn't buy quicksheets first so this review won't be as bias, but it is a lagit app!
Need update quick!!!!
dalyse 3.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
Great potential, ok start. Need 4 things desperatly: 1. Fix caps key, which stays locked the first time you hit it. Super annoying, come on. 2. Bring back autocorrect - people can disable it if they want to in iPhone settings, I can't spell. 3. Bring back the email document function!! Quickoffice Files and Quicksheet have it, where'd it go!?? Did it get lost or just forgotten? 4. What was wrong with the magnifing glass? It works faster then the whole document zoom thing. Should have 3 or 4 more things if it hopes to compete with Documents to Go in May: 1. Simple justification selector, left, right or middle. Nothing fancy. 2. Tab function for proper indents 3. Ability to select the indentation level of each bullet in a list 4. Documents to Go looks like it will have the ability to add and read comments. Hope quickoffice beats them to it.. I also hope that promised ability to mount quickoffice as a drive shows up at some point...
DONT BUY!!! (or at least beware)

The positive reviews must be paid employees. I was so excited I bought it immediately without looking carefully at the reviews.
Ok App, has a lot of potential
deathkill9000 4.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
I normally do not write reviews, but with this app having "no reviews," I decided to write one. The app does most of what it says it does. One thing that would be nice is a general instruction manual. They have detailed manuals on how to use the programs like Word, but none on simple things like "how to delete a file." Some things that sort of annoy me: No spell check When you press the "caps" button, it takes it a "caps lock" No support for Office 2007 files (this is really annoying) No password-protect for files No PowerPoint Editor Overall, however, it is a good app with a lot of potential.
Great app

This app is excellent, an industry standard for mobiles. Glad to see it has finally arrived on iPhone. Love the interface - very well designed.
Great app! Stop with the silly reviews
dspeers 4.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
This is a great app and really is well designed and executed. Yes there are some things that could be better, but I am sure they will make it better, bring back the email and provide iwork09 support. Give it a chance and be a bit more reasonable with reviews.
Emailing files
ronnie1577 1.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
The description says it emails files directly from your iPhone, but the download button that suppose to have the email option is not there. So for right now there is no email feature. THE BUTTON IS NOT THERE.
No spellcheck or autocorrect
Daneesee 2.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
You need autocorrect withbthe virtual keyboard. If not then you need spellcheck functionality. Omitting these makes typing difficult. Also omits auto periods and capitalization with a double space. It's nice to have .doc compatability but these missing features are a deal breaker.
Needs more work
markisola 1.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
Guarantees compatability but can't even open a password protected Excel file.
Not quite yet

Great App (v.1.1.0)

I am very pleased with QuickOffice's application, as it works quite well for me. Don't forget to respring or reboot after installation to avoid problems as with any App Store app.
this app is not ready for prime time!
hawpunch 1.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
there are a number of problems with this app. i'm not sure if the developer is responsible for all of them, or shares some culpability with apple. first of all, the program description states that you can email documents. to be clear, this document does not allow you to access and edit documents you have emailed to you. this is critical for me, as i have clients and co-workers who send me drafts for editing. i cannot do this since the program won't find them.
Needs GoogleDoc, Email connectivity
Tyringrey 1.0 stars Version: 1.1.0
Good program, glad it finally arrived. If you're not a MobileMe subscriber, however, the access to files is limited to wifi and a computer. Several other programs have google Docs connections (rainbownotes, savysoda's documents), or are able to in-app browse emails and open attachments. Without these, Quickoffice is hitching their program to a paid subscription that I have no other use for. If you're not a MobileMe user, I'd wait. They might fix this, or Dataviz might get it right when their app comes out next month.
